Newman, Randy - Have You Seen My Baby? Lyrics

Have you seen my baby
On the avenue?
You know she's driving me crazy
With the funny things she do
I seen her with the milkman
Ridin' down the street
When you're through with my baby, milkman
Send her home to me

Hold on, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on
You know it's been so long
Since she have been gone
Hold on, hold on, hold on

I seen her with the gypsies
Dancin' in the wood
She's always been unfaithful to me
She ain't never been no good
I say, "Please don't talk to strangers, baby"
But she always do
She say, "I'll talk to strangers if I want to
'Cause I'm a stranger, too"

Hold on, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on
You know it's been so long
Since she have been gone
Hold on, hold on, hold on

Newman, Randy Have You Seen My Baby? Comments
  1. J.... S....

every song of his sounds the same😂😂😂 garbage.

  2. D.... W....

I thought I'd seek out the original, and it's pretty interesting, with that spooky mix. I think Fat's Domino has the most powerful rocked up rendition, although I enjoy the downplayed feel of this, full or anxiety and tension.

  3. A.... G....

    UUUH WHAT A FUNNY ALBUM.

  4. L.... D....

You know, it is about power, because he says that she doesn't come around any more, but maybe she have been gone.

  5. N.... N....

    What an underrated dood

    N.... N....

    Enjoy him with your fude....

  6. m.... ....

Much love on this song in all versions (the original, Flamin' Groovies, and Ringo's with Marc Bolan!)

    m.... ....

    Marc Bolan, eh?

  7. J.... B....

The Flamin' Groovies cover is totally amazing. Even tops the original (and the unfortunate Ringo cover).

    J.... B....

NOT to stat a fight, I'm actually curious what you think, but what's wrong with Ringo's cover despite being Ringo (not a good argument tbh, it's on his best album)

    J.... B....

Nothing wrong with the other versions. The Flamin' Groovies version is just really right...for me. The drumming makes me happy.

    J.... B....

I agree. Go for the Flamin' Groovies' version. It's from their iconic 1971 album 'Teenage Head'. Also check the version by Nicky Hopkins with Fats Domino.

    J.... B....

I will have to hear this!

  8. S.... ....

    this is trash

    S.... ....

All music is in the ear of the beholder! One man or woman's "trash" is another's TREASURE.

    S.... ....

    @Valerie Griffin good response :)

    S.... ....

Well, that's coming from a man who probably doesn't know women

    S.... ....

    Fats Domino didn't think so

  9. G.... S....

I'd only heard Ringo Starr's cover previously. Not taking anything away from Mr. Starkey, but I prefer the original here.

    G.... S....

    of course!

    G.... S....

The Flamin' Groovies did a brilliant, more rockin' cover of this.

  10. J.... ....
