New Order - Hurt Lyrics
(One, two, three, four)
I am for you can enjoy I can give you
(Give me, give me, give me)
It's a time we love to hate, I can give you
(Give me, give me, give me)
This is the time you'd love to hate, I will take you
I'm quite determined and there will be
No more mistakes, no more talking
I'll bet you hate this
Oh, I am for you will enjoy, I can take you
(Give me, give me, give me)
This is the law and you...
I'm quite determined and there will be
No more mistakes like the last one

As a 51 year old and reasonably fit Scotsman, I can honestly say, I would not swap the time I grew up in.

Proto-Lil Pump lyrics
Top, top tune
After Movement, they went sharply downhill and I lost interest. It was their only substantial album, unfortunately.
I think they got better after movement, they just naturally progressed from being joy division into being new order, and peaked around mid eighties, but we're still knocking out belters even in 1990, world in motion, say no more!
I personally prefer their era from Ceremony all the way up to Blue Monday. However, that doesn't mean I don't absolutely love what they did from there up to Technique and even Regret.
I agree they were at their most interesting around this time - though Movement itself has some pretty dull patches on it. But the Benelux EP, Procession and Temptation are all great.
Man listen to songs like 586. Brilliant and underrated. Lot of other lesser known new order tracks after movement that are great. Their mainstream stuff is great too though. I myself love their early singles like ceremony, everything’s gone green, temptation, procession, and then I also love songs from movement like dreams never end, icb, and chosen time. Blue Monday, true faith, regret, bizarre love triangle, age of consent, your silent face, fine time, elegia, leave me alone, and so many more are other great examples of great songs after movement, but of course most of those are their hits so you probably already know about them. Still great stuff though I think.
I think 'Low Life" was very good. After that album there wasn't much I liked from them. "Substance" doesn't count.
The cover by Bis is pretty solid, for anyone interested https://youtu.be/_2cN6OdZtt8
Sounds a little like Depeche Mode to me before Hooky's bass line comes in.
Such a coincidence there is a test single floating around with this and Oberkorn before they where even released officially.

How good was this band back in the day?! Yay!
how good is this now!
This band still rocks, even after all these years
Still are.
