Nevermore - Garden Of Gray Lyrics
When the moon is high across the garden
That's when I'll come to you
When the nightshade blooms in your eyes
Let my sin pour in you
When the forest sings like an angel's choir
I want to feel your flesh enrapture me
And live the politics of ecstasy
In the garden there is no fear
In the garden of gray we can disappear
In the garden where I can feel
In the garden, to touch you is so surreal
If the moon should pour out of the sky
If you lay your hands on me gently
You won't be misconstrued
When you feel the shiver of lust grow deeper
I'm coming for you
I want to feel my senses sing to me
You are the music in my ecstasy
I want to love you in the garden of gray
Where we can stop the time and drink the ecstasy
And when it's done, just traces of the glow
The sparkle in your eyes is ecstasy

The chorus along with that riff behind it is fucking amazing! I love Jeff Loomis
Authentic. Thats the word. So missed ...
Love this album so raw
It's remind me a bit of Savatage, but very really better in my irrelevant opinion
Brilliant....Excellent....what else to say..?
R.I.P. Warrel Dane....always with me 🖤
Loveitallnevermore&sanctuarytoo
Rest in Peace Warrel Dane
That voice!
IN THE GARDEN WARREL IZ FREEEEEEEE
Unique
Gods bless Warrel Dane
I will always think of your early departing every time I hear this song. R.I.P. Warrel Dane, I'm sorry you died so early in life. You are missed brother.
R.I.P Warrel!
Sorry, but there's an error in your lyrics and it's bugging me far more than it should. It should read:
In the garden there is no fear
In the garden of gray we can disappear
In the garden where I can feel
In the garden, to touch you is so surreal
You left out "to touch you."
im a diehard sanctuary fan, old school. but riverdragon, next in line , garden grey are such epic tunes!!
this song is great. i set the speed to 1.25, just wanted to see how it soudned, more like old sanctuary to me. or at least the demo.
AMAZING !
I wish that nevermore was still around they are a best heavy metal band
great song about giving into your sexual urges and we all have them
Great fucking song.
this is a good album but i want 2 hear politics of ecstacy
nevermore forevermore!!!
ice earth? this is better...
both bands were better than average US metal
Iced Earth made very good albums too.
What else can you ask from a band?
Music so extremely unique, powerful and touching.
Lyrics so deep and philosophical.
And that voice...
I once saw Warrel Dane yell at the rain to stop, and it did.
Yes sanctuary&never morewereonpointwithall faceyspfmusical construction
Thenwarreldanes voice procelesa
the vocals make all the difference, great song, since no one sings anymore, Thank God for Metal Baby's save Metal lol
I totally agree with you. I like old school death metal, but I prefer clean traditional metal vocals over death metal growls any day. Clean vocals have a story to tell and more of a presence to convey a message. Also clean vocalist always create and leave a massive inspiration and impact on present and future musicians. For example Robert Plant, David Lee Roth, Ozzy, Dio, Lemmy, Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson the list goes on.
Not to mention there aren't that many good bands anymore that have clean vocals. Nevermore was one of the few bands that did along with Dream Theater, Symphony X, Iced Earth, Ashes of Aries, Sanctuary, Firewind, Blind Guardian just to name a few.
Is this song about rape?
@kisukehatake210 IDK, I get what you mean by "predatory lyrics" but don't see anything blatantly rapey about them. Warrel Dane doesn't seem like one to treat sexual crimes lightly. And concerning what you said about "gray areas," I don't know who exactly made that one up; maybe the idea came from that whole Fifty Shades hype, which was published in 2011, whereas the Nevermore album was released all the way back in 1995.
You can think whatever you want, I don't give a shit. I didn't write it.
@ewqdsacxz765
it means an area of a subject or question that is difficult to put into a particular category because it is not clearly defined and may have connections or associations with more than one category. it dates back to the mid 1900s
And a grey area can be about anything. Seems rape might be heavily on your mind.
Devils Advocate I connected gray area to predatory sexual lyrics and came up with rape. That's it tbh
one of the BEST metal bands ever !!!
badass song
damn it Nevermore, your Riffs are perfect, but that voice ruines it all :/
Off with your head
BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM.WITHOUT A DOUBT
Marty Friedman influences? Where?
Sure, how?
I don't know, but I can send it to you if you want. I have it downloaded.
What version is this?
it's closer to how he sang in sanctuary.
this album is soooo fucking good. i think the first 2 albums are their best
For those who dont know, Gray is an SI-Unit in physics describing the amount of radiation a living organism is exposed to. Some people also spell the color grey as gray, dont they? Do you think his talking about gardens of bleak discolored stuff, or gardens of radiation? :P
i can sweep dust.... lol i can sweet a lil still not a 100% clean ..but in time it will happen
I can't sweep at all, dude; good luck with that.
i actually figured that out by ear lol but now im straggling with the sweeps
The solo's in Eb harmonic minor, with some Phrygian/Locrian mode mixed in at the end. (Or so it sounds to my ears...)
666dchristians777 LOVE YOU DUUUUDEEE
i want tabs for the solo or at least a damn scale
All this album is awesome, not only 3 songs. Timothy Leary is my favorite.
A real masterpiece! Although I have loved (and thus prefer) the unclean version (L)
I prefer the way he sings on this album than on the others. He has a great voice.
chrome black future(CBF) is also a good song
@evertuber = amen to that!! \M/
1. Garden of Gray
