Nelson, Willie - Touch Me Lyrics

Touch me, touch the hand of a man
Who once owned all the world
And touch, me touch the arms
That once held all the charms
Of the world's sweetest girl
Touch me, maybe someday you may
Need to know how it feels when you lose
And so touch me, you'll know
How you feel with the blues

Watch me, watch the eyes
That have seen all the heartache
And pain in the land
And be thankful you're happy though
Standing so close to the world's bluest man
Don't forget me, take a good look
At someone who's lost everything he can lose
And then touch me and you'll know
How you'd feel with the blues

[guitar]

Don't forget me take a good look...

This is raw, pure Willie. It almost sounds Doo Wop.

I have been a fan of Nelson and his style and music since 1973. To my dismay I have never heard this album!!Phillip Austin

This is NOT Willies first album. It's his 2nd album. Still a GREAT album, just not his first.

The birth of magic. That's what Willie's music has been all of these years.

I love how you can actually hear the room they recorded in. They don't let you hear details like that anymore; it's all carefully isolated and deleted. Music nowadays is just a bunch of homogenized zeros and ones. Sad.

  15. T.... K....

    One of my favorites!

  16. f.... l....

i could identify with this song

Willie is just such a great songwriter. He's gone through tough times too. Did you hear, I would imagine perhaps a friend of Willie's .. that Guy Clark died this week of cancer.

  19. F.... G....

It's.hard to live it, but no better way to tell it..

  20. o.... ....

While doing a road trip through the US in the early 90s, a German friend who was travelling with us, was always playing and singing this song. It was on a cassette compilation. I hated it then, but now it's a nice memory ...

I love this song - Willie sure can sign a great love song. His unique voice makes any song he sings unforgettable. What a song writer - all of those he's written are ones that I play often - the songs are so good that no matter who sings them (except for Willie of course who makes them sound fabulous) they sound terrific. Thanks so much for posting this treasure. - Paula
