Nelson, Ricky - You Know What I Mean Lyrics

I've got a girl, she's a regular date
When she's good she's good & when she's bad she's great
Do you know what I mean?
(I know what you mean)
Do you know what I mean?
(I see what you mean)
If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean

She looks cool in a sweater & cordeuroys
She loves them bent but she likes fickle boys
Do you know what I mean?
(I know what you mean)
Do you know what I mean?
(I see what you mean)
If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean

She likes to be around me; she knows where I stand
I'm so glad she found me; she finds me every time she can, yeah

Every evenin' when we're doin' our thing
She stays home 'cause she likes it in
Do you know what I mean?
(I know what you mean)
Do you know what I mean?
(I see what you mean)
If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean

She likes to be around me; she knows where I stand
I'm so glad she found me; she finds me every time she can, yeah

Every evenin' when we're doin' our thing
She stays home 'cause she likes it in
Do you know what I mean?
(I know what you mean)
Do you know what I mean?
(I see what you mean)
If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean

If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean
If you had a girl like mine, you'd know what I mean
(I know what you mean)

Rick Nelson was Blitz Magazine's pick (in a dead heat tie with Hank Williams) for Best Solo Artist of the 20th Century. It was an immeasurable blessing and privilege to have seen him live seven times, interview him three times and get to know him a bit in his final years. You Know What I Mean was also Blitz Magazine's pick for Best Single Of The 1980s. None better. Ever.

  12. b.... b....

I saw this when it first aired in the 80's and as a teenager I flipped.  Rick was a true Rockabilly and didn't get the credit as a musician that he deserved. This shit is the real deal. Authentic baby. I love the tip to Joe Maphis with the slide ups...just like on Rick's early rockers.

Rick and three of the original Jordanaires together again sounding wonderfull as when they backed him on so many songs in the 50s and 60s.Sadly they couldn't have known they would be singing at his funeral in a few short months. Great historic video.

  29. M.... ....

Absolute jaw dropping, utter perfection! One of the finest moments in all of music, of all time. He is greatly, greatly, greatly missed.
