Neil Young - Traces Lyrics
Believe me,
When I tell you
That a love true
Isn't hard to find.
And she's so fine
Like a lifeline
From across the sea.
None of the neighbors
Remember names,
They only see the faces
With destinations still unnamed.
It's hard to leave the traces
For someone to follow.

Great song! thanks for sharing this gem.
Uncle Neil at his best
I always come back to your rare versions of this, Bad Fog of Loneliness, and Mellow My Mind. Three of my Favs.
so true.....
Before the internet people had to pay cash for all these old unreleased songs on bootlegs.
I used to have a network of people and we would trade tapes through the mail. Talk about frustrating lol.
This is just so sweet of a song, simple, pure, pure Neil.
god bless you sir
I love this man and his music
@JoeGroomlake I totally agree.
Sweet...never heard this one before, I don't think...
thank ya man..... this song was not a big hit for him, but one of my favs......
This is great. I've only heard the CSNY version until now
if you have the acoustic version of winterlong i would love to hear it
What a great tune.
really love this song, I think i like the csny version from wembley 74 better though
@rogerjazzfan I hold that the 70's were neil's golden years. After the Gold Rush, Harvest, Time Fades Away, Tonight's the Night, On the Beach, Zuma, American Stars n Bars, Rust Never Sleeps, Live Rust- you'd be hard-pressed to find a bad song. No fillers. It's difficult to find any other artists with such musical integrity.
@Nyahmen You're welcome, the rare stuff is my favourite, what's really cool is that the original releases of songs from the ditch trilogy: Tonight's the Night and On The Beach were all cluttered together...For the Turnstiles, Walk On were both meant to be released on Tonight's the Night. Unfortunately, Traces, Bad Fog of Loneliness, and Winterlong were all cut out completely. I used to have Winterlong posted from this era but it was taken down- copyright claim. Ok I'll stop talking now lol.
