Here is something interesting to me anyway. Neil Young sings about living with the Barkers on Sugar Mountain. In past interviews Neil Young also states he knew the infamous Charlie Manson. The ranchers who owned the ranch where Manson and his followers stayed family name was Barker. I really don't know though if thats just a coincidence or not .

Some of the best times in my life. Live in Oregon now but went back there a few years back.
The Lodge is long gone but the San Gregorio Store hasn't changed a bit. I just stood there in awe

I first heard this song late 71/early 72. It was on the flip side of Heart Of Gold. I just fell in love with it and still am to this day. It's a song that every adult can relate to.

A "barker" is a 'carney' (carnival) shouting out to you as you pass by ..

in pescadero California there's a place there called sugar mountain that I spent time there when i was a kid and Neil young lived not to far away I also gave him a sign that said stony point Rd. maybe one day he will thank me that would be nice anyway I love the song peace ☮ out!!!!

I used to sing this to my ex girlfriend almost every night even when she was around the world back in India, far away from me.

I miss her, and this recently started playing again and now I'm choking up. Neil always understood me.

This made me drop something in a spring and get a gold version of it.

metaphor schmetaphor lol I grew up next to western WA fair. Memories of getting free ticket for jr high hig school students, worked summer to have cash for the dair take your girlfriend. HUGE at school "who ya taken to the fair" would make good reality show. Saw many big names shows bands at grand stand shows I worked there as a kid and all my friends were there. OH to live on Sugar Mountain with the barkers....

Oh this really rush so many memories. Tears flow from all these memories. Such a beautiful song.
