Neil Young - Reason To Believe Lyrics
If I listened long enough to you
I'd find a way to believe that it's all true
Knowing that you lied straight faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe
Without somebody else
Someone like you makes it easy to give
Never thinking of myself
If I gave you time to change my mind
I'd find a way to leave the past behind
Knowing how you lied straight faced while I cried
Still I look to find a reason to believe
Someone like you makes it hard to live

Neil Young Reason To Believe Comments
Some great songs makes artists timeless. Thank you.
A legend covering another legend. Beautiful!

The Best version in absolute!
Neil go home. That's awful.
ugggggg... just plain awful
.
Really destroyed this song.
I love Neil Young, but he pretty well butchered this Tim Hardin song. Sorry.

He's a musical genious...but Im not sure i get this version of the song.
love neil but....pretty ordinary performance. school kid standard.
Is Neil singing this FOR Pegi? or ABOUT Pegi?
Probably singing it about America
Wow....that is freakin awful. Tim Hardin or Karen Dalton....the search ends there.
You suck
I suck? Why, because I think this horribly tired and out of tune rendition of a song is inferior to the guy who wrote it? Neil Young was ok in the 70s but what happened? Listen to Tim Hardin or Karen Dalton or.....listen to this version. The difference is enormous and this version is flat out awful. I listened again...even worse the second time. God that's awful.
@John Harrington Dumb ass
What a touching rendition
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I was hoping it was the Springsteen song.
Congenial version of this heartbreaking song. written by another giant: TIM HARDIN. Very touching minutes, indeed!
PS: Try Hardin's own (late) performance here on YT.
"This is a Rod Stewart song"!!! Haha haha...Great alternative version of Tim's classic song.
So many years bringing us thought-provoking lyrics and so much happiness!
Love this one! The organ and the wooden indian goes great together. Wish I had them.
Incredible !!
I'm a Neil fan...but this is GOD AWEFUL!!
DUMB ASS!!!
@James Gilchrist DUMB ASS PART TWO!!!
@Tracy Kirkpatrick i agree with you. it sucked big time.
what makes Neil unique is his utter fearlessness. he'll try anything, and he doesn't care if everything he does turns out great.
It's all about the words I suppose, and in that respect it's a good version. He seems to have performed mostly cover versions at that year's Farm Aid.
Karen Dalton did her version of this song too..look her up..the voice that was never heard
A goddess!
Right of course this is just one of the many songs written and sung by the great Tim Hardin, many people covered his songs , it was Tim and Tim's version of If I Were a Carpenter that Bobby Darin copied and literally hundreds of people covered that Tim Hardin song which was about Tim courting his wife Susan, So Tim created a seminal folk song when he wrote that, even Johnny Cash covered that!
And Tim had a hit with his version of Bobby Darins song. So I guess they are even.
Old Rod Stewart song
Tim Hardin
This is tears but great - WOW, love Neil's music
From one farmer to another. Thanks Neil!
Ha ha this comment made me smile 😊
Boy Neil is really getting fed up with the lack of progress getting rid of big oil and finding other sources of fuel.
And he's right. We have the sun, the rain, the soil, the plants, what the heck is the problem? What's the stinkin hold up?
Well those oil people are going to block progress every chance they get.
And they are in bed with the government.
And on goes Katrinas, and Sandys, and Denver floods, and droughts...
Isn't it time his fans started speaking up, as well?
Back the man.
Yeah I domt think most people understand he was singing this song about America
Challenge - who is the bestest Neil Young fan - I've given up trying???
He makes it real. Thanks again, Neil!
I could never listen long enough to Neil. Effortlessly brilliant cover of a great song.
Simply brilliant!
Awesome!
Wish we had more Artist like Neil young today.. Music sure has changed for the worst.. Unless your The Avett Brothers, now they are some true musical talent ...
Wow, Neil makes this song so much deeper.
A Reason to Believe! Nice
