Neil Young - Oh, Lonesome Me Lyrics

Everybody's going out and having fun
I'm a fool for staying home and having none.
I can't get over how she set me free.
Oh, lonesome me.

There must be some way that I can lose these lonesome blues
Forget about my past and find someone new
I've thought of everything from A to Z
Oh, lonesome me.

I'll bet she's not like me.
She's out and fancy free,
Flirting with the boys with all her charms
But I still love her so,
And brother don't you know
I'd welcome her right back here in my arms

There must be some way that I can lose these lonesome blues
Forget about my past and find someone new
I can't get over how she set me free.
Oh, lonesome me.

Sounds just about right I'm 20 years old and back in my high school years when people went to homecoming prom and other such events to have fun and a good time I would just stay home and do nothing but be bored

thinking back the people / bands that interpreted country music - think of The Band for example - this is a great album one of my faves at the time in High School

We should have a "friendversary" like they do on facebook because i started getting into Neil's music when i was 16 and im the same age as you

neil took a hank williams song and remade it into his own. every song from this album is incredibly timeless! no wonder rolling stone gave it a 4 star review in 1970 (when reviews mattered).

mikeisamovie - Exactly who wrote the review mattered also (and still does). Rolling Stone has done a lot of very good reviews but I've read more than a few that were really ignorant and nasty. Of course they've written very favorable ones that I see as ignorant also because they're about performers who I don't like. AllMusic.com has a lot of good reviews but I don't always agree with them either. At least they never get too mean or profane.
