Neil Young - Love To Burn Lyrics

Late one night I was walking
in the valley of hearts.
A spirit came to me and said:
You gotta move to start
You gotta take the first step
You gotta crawl to be tall
And then she me told something,
something that
I'll never forget.

You got love to burn.
You better
take your chance on love.
You got to let your guard down
You better take a chance,
A chance on love.
Take chance on love
On love.

In the valley of hearts there's
a house full of broken windows
And the lovers inside just
quarrel all the time
Why'd you ruin my life?
Where you takin' my kid?
And they hold each other saying:
How did it come to this?

You got love to burn.
You better take your chance
on love.
You got to let your guard down
You better take a chance,
A chance on love.
Take chance on love
On love.

Late one night I was walking
in the valley of hearts.
A spirit came to me and said:
You gotta move to start
You gotta take the first step
You gotta crawl to be tall
And then she me told something,
something that
I'll never forget.

Neil Young Love To Burn Comments
  1. A.... U....

foaming guitar better than Hendrix, lyrics so easy and clear, better than Dylan, the very best of Rock...

  2. P.... ....

I became acquainted with Neil Young and Crazy Horse one night while laying on the couch of my first student house back in 1996. The local dealer had this record or rather the original but it had got warped in a fire. We had an old time stereo with the heaviest arm ever. One of the best nights ever a few smokes and some fine Neil Young was an eye opener for a slightly tunnel visioned metal head respect to Digger apart of all the Hash this was the best thing u done lad ;p

  3. P.... P....

If Neil can't make you cry now and then, well, I don't know about you.

    P.... P....

Some of his stuff can make you cry and laugh in the same song..

  4. R.... ....

Neil does not sell gigantic amounts of music like the great icons of todays music (lol), but he has a devoted fan base, and I'm glad to be one of his fans. Been a devotee since 1970, when I discovered "After The Goldrush" on FM radio.

  5. c.... e....

  11. C.... E....

    Fuckin' rocks!

  12. C.... H....

I've listened to Neil Young since 1980. His acoustic and electric guitars are equally powerful when paired with that amazing songwriting.

    C.... H....

Gee , you're a newcomer. Welcome to ecstasy.

  13. P.... ....

Long live the great Uncle Neil!

  14. R.... D....

  17. c.... o....

"Classic grinder from the Godfather of Grunge."
    solid description

    c.... o....

A 'grinder' is an apt description. No one can play so consistently well (technically) through so many performances (over a half century folks, think about that for a moment....he's one of the four on the Mt. Rushmore of Rock n' Roll, without a doubt. He can write, sing, play and compose/arrange, all incredibly well. The only other that does all four as well or close to as well is Sir Paul.

  18. G.... B....

God has a name ... and he's Young forever

    G.... B....

    Forever young!
    Ce mec est génial !

  19. T.... S....

Neil Young is a unique guitarist and song writer, a legend. Grunge has nothing to do with him, it's just a word given to artistes mainly Nirvana and Pearl Jam, excellent in their own right.

    T.... S....

Tony Sharples true that except he was "formally" adopted as grunge's grandfather. rather well deserved I believe.

    T.... S....

I do agree Tony Sharples, but if the young generation wanted to acknowledge their master then I think it's an honour he well deserves. To have a genre nod in admiration, as opposed to just an artist or band.....that's an accomplishment, and Neil Young deserves it as he is superb in every way.

  20. F.... F....

it started with cowgirl in the sand and just got better

  21. S.... M....

Neil Young is in a class all alone. From ragged glory to weld 1&2 to harvest moon. Not to mention live rust.He is notboring to watch either he be playing so hard strings are busting off his guitar.Truely multi talented very cool music.

  25. S.... D....

I feel like Neil almost has a cultish fan base. His fans all seem to have different parts of his career that speak directly to them.

    S.... D....

I think the 90s is his best era - Harvest Moon, Sleeps with Angels, Year of the Horse.. deep stuff

    S.... D....

    Yes Marek, definitely, for sure.

    S.... D....

    Marek Pocestný
Yeah I totally agree. And having lived through them I remember seeing the Horse in 91 and they were awesome!

    S.... D....

I like a lot of different Neil. I particularly love Ragged Glory. It definitely speaks directly to me. I still remember buying it when it came out.

  26. p.... ....

Love it! Some years ago my friend really didn't like Neil Yong. I made a compilation of my favorite Neil Young and gave it to my friend. He loved it after a few times. He is a huge fan of Neil Young today. Ofcourse; )

thank you Gangster "boy scout" ?

  35. N.... R....

I listened to this song today, trying to convince myself to get rid of the anger and to learn to feel love again.

Then I saw the Bridge set from September, and you got me all worked up again about the planet. And now I'm mad again.

    Some might call it bi-polar.
    Some might call it passion.

Either way, at least we got some songs.
Would you like me to say for the billionth time what a "great songwriter" you are?

Wouldn't you rather hear them using their efforts to help you cause change?
