Neil Diamond - Red, Red Wine Lyrics
Red, red wine
Go to my head
Make me forget that I
Still need her so
It's up to you
All I can do, I've done
But memories won't go
No, memories won't go
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, and I find
Just one thing makes me forget
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue, blue heart
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you would leave my head
I was wrong, and I find
Just one thing makes me forget
Red, red wine
Stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart
My blue, blue heart

Neil Diamond Red, Red Wine Comments
Love this man n his awesome music n voice👏👏👏👏🥰🥰
WTF?? I did not know this was a Neil Diamond song. And I’m old enough to know better. For decades I’ve loved Cherry Cherry, Acapulco, Cracklin Rose, Sweet Caroline, etc etc. Sorry Neil. But I’m just gonna blame the disc jockeys. 😉
This was OUR SONG for many years. The lyrics are more poignant since my partner died. Neil Diamond a brilliant singer/songwriter.

Absolutely awesome! Thank you so much!
Sound better in x1.25
With a steel guitar and a slight twang, it would have been a big Country hit.
esta bien aburrido
Me lo dijo el CHOMBO
i dont have any idea about this original version :0
Laundromat brought me here lol
Yep... just watching 'The Laundromat'. I had to look it up for myself also. I like this version. It is very 'Neil Diamond-ish'. Can't wait to use this on the next trivia night.
Who’s here because of the Netflix movie “The Laundromat?”
Yep! I don't know that this is knowledge I needed. Like that Dolly Parton originated the I Will Always Love You song.
chans woolery guilty as charged.
Ha ha me too :)
I always thought UB40 wrote this song 😱 but yes I stopped the movie just to google this song 😀
@Jose Enrique Tarazona Ocharan Just like me :-)
I learned about this original version from Netflix’s Laundromat. Little fun fact a guy shares with his party while the popular version plays in the background.
Who’s here because of the movie the laundromat? :)
Eli L me
I had the watch the movie laundry mat to learn that this man wrote a great song that I loved for years
The movie The Laundromat from Netflix brought me here. I didn't know this was originally a Neil Diamond song
2019.... Mano arriba si llegaste aquí por los vídeos de: Te lo dijo el Chombo :)
Wow! I just learnt this song was written by Neil Diamond by watching The Laundromat
Me too! That is why I searched on YouTube!
I knew it but forgot. My mom had the album (LP) Back in the 70's but watching The Laundromat now so had to hear the original again from my youth.
Same here
So Neil Diamond is even richer than I thought.
Steven Soderbergh brought me here.
Baffled that over 300 people can rate this thumbs down. It's a wonderful sentimental ballad.
Best version.
Excellente interprétation. J'adore le côté balade. Et cette voix si particulière.
Just beautiful 🤗
Hoy 2019 me entero que la que canta ub40 ea un cover jajaja
Me encanta😍
REEEEED REEED WINE *BUM BUM BUM*
without this version the one of UB40 would not exist

It's 2019 and I only just found out this is the original from watching the Netflix movie The Laundromat.
Me too!! Damn which rock have you been living under?..i was living in a cave...😆
I just did too
Never heard this version before and I don't know how I missed it. Wow Neil!!!!!
I will be honest. I just found out one month (july-2019) ago that Neal diamond recorded this and also probably wrote it . I first heard UB40 first many years ago. Iam sorry Neal but I first heard it from UB 40 and I have ALLWAY been stuck on it even today iam Still listening to it! RED RED WINE
Why did this version do less well in the charts than UB40s? Answer I suppose is that people prefer 'happier' sounds and don't like to be reminded of the broken hearts that love can often leave behind.
Worst famous singer ever
I don’t know why I like this sad, aching version better. Lol!
En español con los moonlights excelente cover
Saludos para quienes investigan sobre la música
Louie Van gaal
Beautiful
still kinda prefer ub40 cover i dunno i feel like the lyrics are better in a reggea theme i think it suits it
reggae is great but they removed all emotion reflecting the lyrics.
God gives us a voice to sing. Neil Diamond is so talented. Such a performer /writer! Legend in this world. Jesus Christ sang! Matthew chap 26:verse 30. YES He did right before he gave himself over to his enemies so that they could crucify Him and we could LIVE!. And that song He sang gave thanks to God for all God gave. It was Psalm 118...it is an everlasting "GOODIE"

Isaiah chap 14: verse 7:
Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel.
(which means: Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh as a man but without sin. His shed blood would eventually pay all sins price of all sinners! And He would be crucified and die and rise from the dead the third day. Jesus had to die. His death and blood were both required to pay for all sins once and for all time. See * 1 Cor.15:3-4 &* Ephesians 1:7 below)

Wow, ive finally understood the lyrics. Haha. The ub40 version is better though. Just oerfected... Love ya Niel
Neil Diamond doesn't get the credit he deserves, a legend of legends. Gave UB 40 a BIG hit! How about the Monkees BIG HIT I'm a Believer
especially his BANG records output... amazing.
Não olhes para o vinho quando se mostra vermelho, como se ele desse sua cor ao copo. Ele pode até deslizar-se suavemente agora, mas, no seu fim será amargo. Ele golpeia como serpente venenosa.
UB40 version is better, it just sounds so awesome
I just had Neil Diamond run thru my head here... Red Red Wine.... hmmmmmm
I can't believe I just am now learning of this
my acoustic version: https://youtu.be/80liMa49iJM

The UB40 version is catchy, but it doesn't make me feel anything, unlike the original.

Great memories from June 1968 when I was 15. ( 51 years ago.....where did the years go ) Cherish the memories...cause life is too short.
Diamond's is so much better!!
Is this the lost tapes? ..... https://youtu.be/aMZhQpIlNdc
"Red Red Wine" brought me here.
Covers: Neil Diamond in 1968.
UB40 in 1984 & 1988 (#1).
I love UB40's version. Their reggae style never gets old. That being said, I really love this version as well. It's so 60's, and the "feel" is so satisfying. I just wish Neil's version was a little longer.
Perfectly done, that's DIAMOND.
I could hear some dumbass millennial saying hey he's doing that song UB40 wrote? Or Peter Frampton is sin'ging that song UB40 wrote?
Beautiful song, beautiful voice. I'm obsess with this song.
Sounds like reggae guitar was added
... /... ¡¡¡ Canciones como esta... *POCAS !!!*
RED RED WINE FOREVER
This version definitely better than ub40 and BOB MARLEY.
Back here after 1 year. Love my NIEL DIAMOND
Red, red wine
Go to my head
Make me forget that I
Still need her so
Red, red wine

Did Neil Diamond have a drinking problem?
Neil daimond, me lembra um grande amigo que partiu
Wow never knew Neil did this song originally. I personally prefer UB40's version but this is still great!!
I'll probably always biasly love the UB40 and Bob cover over orginal because I grew up hearing those. Not this one, tho my parents love him, they didn't play him around me. But this orginal is amazing.
I like the red red wine from the 80s ub40 one sucks
One of my favorites. Makes me cry. So beautiful and heartfelt. Thank you, Neil. The memories never leave, they lessen in intensity, but they never leave.
SecretSpaceProgram.com and MichaelSalla.com
brilliant!
...YES ...
Not my favorite song by Neil, but WAY better those lame white-boy faux-reggae poseurs U-B(arf) 40(times) and their "Red Red Whine"....
I thought Bob Marley had made this! Go figure.. still a hit in both versions💎💎
Wine nor drugs takes away the hurt, Only love can break a heart. only love can mend it again I look at life this way I got along before I meet you I can do it after your gone God made more than one
Reminds me of a drunk Christmas....good times
Didn;t realise Neil sang this. Thought it was a UB40 original. This is so much better.
