Neil Diamond - Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow Lyrics

Look out, here comes tomorrow
That's when I'll have to choose
How I wish I could borrow
Someone else's shoes

Mary, oh what a sweet girl
Lips like strawberry pie
Sandra, the long hair and pig tails
Can't make up my mind
I see all kinds of sorrow
Wish I loved only one
Look out here comes tomorrow
Oh how I wish
Tomorrow would never come

Told them both that I loved them
Said it, and it was true
But I can't have both of them
Don't know what to do

I see all kinds of sorrow
Wish I loved only one
Look out here comes tomorrow
Oh how I wish
Tomorrow would never come

[Instrumental]

I see all kinds of sorrow
Wish I loved only one
Look out here comes tomorrow
Oh how I wish
Tomorrow would never come
covered by The Monkees and other artists

Neil Diamond Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow Comments
  1. P.... K....

It's good, but not as good as the monkees did it.

  2. r.... 4....

I'm used to the Monkees rendition..

  3. L.... K....

I love this version...I keep on coming back to it!!

  4. C.... ....

I think Neil Diamond is a brilliant composer and a decent singer, but I like Davy Jones and the Monkees version much better!

  5. R.... A....

    💃💃💃👍👏👏👏💞

  6. M.... J....

Why did he wait so long to bring this out himself? Great job.

    M.... J....

Because when he wrote it he worked for the studio and they had ownership rights to it. However, if I am correct, after a certain time songs are available under fair use, especially by the song writers themselves.

  7. q.... ....

He sounds horrible then again hes old. If he recorded this song in the 60's it would have been Number 1 hit

  8. t.... ....

hey will somebody, anybody out there who knows Neil Diamond THE LIVING LEGEND SINGER-SONGWRITER can ask him if he made any recordings of this and also 'Just Another Guy' the song that Cliff Richard (another living legend). Surely Neil recorded demos of these compositions.

  9. S.... ....

Love ya Mr. Neil Diamond !!! Great song !!

  10. o.... ....

I often wondered why he never recorded this song himself.   He cut I'm A Believer 3 times, and Love to Love once.  YouTube also has an old live version of A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You.   I once sang this song during recess back in junior high.  Thanks to my siblings and one aunt,  I knew a lot of Monkee songs.  This was during their years in the wilderness.   Neil sounds pretty close to how I pictured him doing this song.   While the Monkees' version remains a classic,  it's always interesting to hear the songwriter's interpretation.  RIP Davy Jones.

    o.... ....

And I often wondered why he never recorded 'Just Another Guy' and 'Put My Mind At Ease' himself.    While the Cliff Richard's 1965 and 1972 songs are always a delight to play and listen to,  it's always
interesting to hear the songwriter's interpretation. Might Neil have at least demoed these at one stage? Any ND diehards know if he had and if the tapes are in the vaults ?

    o.... ....

He did record it once. I don't have it anymore, but I once had a tape with all his hits. It had this song on it. It wasn't as good as the Monkees, although he is, of course, a phenomenal songwriter and performer. I think it also helped that at the time, the Monkees were very famous and had a TV show behind them.
But I saw Neil on a TV show--years ago--and they asked him about "I'm a Believer" which he also wrote for the Monkees. He cringed and then said yes, he wrote that song, but that he "could have made millions and millions from it." (He probably still did--garneriing royalties as a songwriter).

  11. J.... ....

Lovin his head twitch!!   I think he remembers!

  12. K.... ....

was just going to comment that.

  13. g.... ....

I at least understand "Dirty Water" (written about Boston and its once notoriously-polluted Charles River) as a sort of anthem of the Red Sox, even if The Standells (who hit with the song) and its writer/producer, Ed Cobb (once of The Four Preps, who sang back-ups for Ricky Nelson), were all Californians.

Apparently a mugging experience Cobb and his girlfriend had in Boston inspired the song's lyrics.

    g.... ....

What the fuck are you drinking about???!!!

  14. g.... ....

As a longtime Boston Red Sox fan, I don't care if I never hear "Sweet Caroline" ever again. Why that song (supposedly inspired by the young Caroline Kennedy, who lived most of her life in New York and would be a Mets or Yankees fan) became identified with the Red Sox is a mystery to me.

  15. g.... ....

But I will give Diamond his due as a songwriter, in the great tradition of the Brill Building. And I do like a few of Diamond's hits of his own--"Cherry Cherry" and "Kentucky Woman."

Still, as with The Monkees' versions of Diamond-in-the-rough originals, I can hear (in my mind) Tommy James & The Shondells recording the former, and B. J. Thomas or Billie Joe Royal the latter, better than Diamond.

  16. g.... ....

    You are absolutely correct!

Plus, one doesn't get the "Mary/Sondra, I love you" hush in Diamond's version, which I guarantee sent thousands of pre-adolescent girls into premature menstruation, as they imagined Davy Jones whispering in their ears.

  17. F.... ....

Definitely, Davy was so much better.

  18. k.... ....

Saw him live in 1989 and have to say it was the best stage show I ever saw.

  19. G.... B....

To me one of the best song he ever wrote was Girl, you'll be a woman soon.
Its a masterpeice ,if you can write song like that you can write for anyone
A song Lennon, Dylan wish thay had of im sure

  20. W.... F....

Yeah that's why Davy toured consistently throughout his life - not!

  21. a.... j....

I guess that's true.. it's a pretty simple song.. but to the right on this page are about 30 examples of great songs Neil Diamond wrote that are hits.. Neil Diamond is one of the top 5 most hammy and overwrought musical performers ever in history outside of opera.. but he is also one of the greatest creators of unforgettable musically rich chart topping pop hits of the last 50 years. Cracklin' Rose you're a store bought woman INDEED!

  22. a.... j....

Neil Diamond is not a great pure singer.. but his quirky style of singing INFORMS his songwriting.. which is why THREE Neil Diamond penned songs became some of the best known Monkees hits. including two perfect showcases for Davy Jones that are probably outside of Daydream Believer the best and most well known of his lead vocals for the band! Too bad Neil didn't write more specifically for Davy!

  23. r.... ....

    i'm a believer

  24. r.... ....

Four songs by Neil Diamond that were sung by the Monkees include:

    I'm a Believer,
    Lookout, Here Comes Tomorrow,
A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You, and
    Love to Love.

  25. m.... ....

Not as good as Davy Jones!!!!!!!!!!

  26. b.... ....

esta de la mierda esta cancion con este ruco

  27. H.... T....

Never heard him sang this before. It seams he did all the songwriting those years!

  28. M.... M....

Great song. I heard Neil sing this at Woburn in 2005. I think that this is where this clip comes from. Am I right.or wrong?

  29. m.... b....

wow!!! where did you get this clip thanks for sharing

  30. b.... ....

It seems like he's trying way too hard to make it not sound like the Monkees version.

  31. m.... ....

Ben Gibbard's cover is SOOOOOOO much better...this just ruined the song for me, I'm afraid...

  32. P.... V....

listening to this makes me glad the monkees did it i love neil diomand but his voice is wrong for this song but it is quite good

  33. 4.... ....

Thank you! Great to hear Neil sing this one.

  34. S.... ....

    America's Greatest Song Writer

  35. r.... ....

I wish he had put out a DVD of this tour, just like he did for his 2008 tour. And maybe sold it at more stores than Wal-Mart.

  36. S.... B....

Hey, he does a good job on this!

Of course, that's not surprising, considering...

  37. l.... ....

He does a pretty good job of it, but I'm use to Davy's rendition, so this sounds really strange. Great song though. I wondered how it would sound it he sang it.

  38. L.... ....

Should have left it to Davy.

  39. c.... ....

Cannot get the tune out of my head- damn that Neil Diamond LOL really xx

  40. r.... ....

This was one of my favorites during his 2005 tour.

  41. g.... ....

I think I've watched this now like 50 times. I love it....way better than those Davey Jones renditions.

  42. m.... ....

Unfortunately not.I believe Neil has not sang "A Little Bit of Me,A Little Bit Of You"
since 1967.Would love to hear it too!
