Today was the first day I'd had the courage to listen to this song because I knew I wouldn't cry this time lmao. For the longest time I couldn't listen to it because it reminded me of the first time I'd fallen in love-- and with a girl, at that. We'd always share music and this was a band she recommended. But even though our feelings were mutual, we couldn't date and then on top of that, I felt like there was some kind of unspoken, increasing tension between us. It didn't help that I was already having an identity crisis at the fact that I was head over heels for a /girl/ (yeah i'm a Girl), so that combined with the fact that my relationship with someone whom I'd always considered a safe space was falling apart was just destroying my state of mind. Even though I'm still figuring things (myself) out and we eventually ended things romantically, I've made peace with my multitude of feelings and time heals <3

I hope she doesn't read this but her personality has changed so much I don't think she even listens to the Neighborhood anymore tbh

She met someone else and i will never forget her..

All I can think of when I hear this song is my ex. We broke up very recently but my god did she mess with me. We went to different colleges and she was so confident with how we would make it and how she wanted a life with me. So she went to her college and I was already at mine. During her first week she told me how she wouldn’t getting engaged and such. A week after she said that she dumped me. She said we could meet up and talk about what to do. For a month and a half she messed with me head. She would check on me a few times a week and say stuff like “I’m really looking forward to talking to you”, “every jazz song I hear reminds me of you”, “I’m thinking of you so much” etc. So then the big day came, she gave me my shit and told me she was done with it. It crushed me. She told me she had sex with someone else (I figured out it was no more than 2 weeks after she dumped me) and it killed me because I rejected so many girls because I felt like I should’ve been loyal to her. I texted her later that night to apologize since I said some very nasty things and one of the last things she said was “you never know, maybe sometime in the future we could get back together”. It was the worst breakup I’ve ever been through and it’s been about two weeks ever since she came to my dorm. I’m suffering so much. All she had to do was just be honest with me instead of dragging my feelings out. It wouldn’t of hurt as bad.

2019- i’ve just came across the neighbourhood for the first time ever, and within the past 30 minutes i’ve been binging these songs non stop, there absolutely amazing, and they can really make you feel some type of way, i’m only 15 and this shit still hits different, i always struggle with liking music mostly cos i want to like all the shit my friends do and i always end up liking more, eh well how can i put it.. sad songs? if that makes any sense, or songs that make you feel stuff, and this full band gives that to me, as i’ve been watching these videos i go to the comments everytime and i think everyone who comments can relate to eachother and it’s one cute big ass family, to my fellow depressed motherfuckers, i hope i’m welcomed,

For 3 years I’ve been listening to this song, every time I feel down depressed or just sad.
3 years ago I was going trough a very hard time, I lost my dad, was bullied at school and struggling with weight, I listened to this song every time I did horrible things to myself, one day I spent around 2 hours just crying and listening to this +a little death, and daddy issues, everything in my life just seemed like a mess and I just wanted to die. After a while I started to feel better, day after day I felt better and better.
I feel like this song was one of the few things that kept me alive. Now I feel a lot better of course, I have a few friends that I love and care about, I’m still struggling with my weight and appearance but I’m getting better. I’m so grateful to The neighbourhood for making lifesaving and beautiful songs. Thank you for reading have a nice day❤️
