Peter became afraid while he was walking towards Jesus and took his eyes off Him and began to sink. Once we take our eyes off Jesus we sink (lack of faith) look to Him and He raises us out of the water, even though we are afraid.

This makes all my problems disappear but Sadly I miss my homework though

This must have been what Peter was thinking before he took that great leap of faith. Greater steps than any man ever took afterwards even that on a lunar surface. And Scripture says we can do even greater things than these.

This is about the story of Peter walking on water to Jesus and begins to sink when he takes his eyes off Him. He cried out to Jesus to save him. Jesus grabbed him by the arm and raised him back up to walk on the water. Jesus then talked to the apostles about faith...keeping your eyes on Jesus, not the world. Jesus understands we become afraid but he wants us to keep our eyes on Him.

Is this a Christian song or? I don't get the song it doesn't make sense what is it talking about? I thought they were a Christian band please can somebody help me make sense of this.. don't get me wrong I LOVE the song!!

do you know the story of peter and jesus?
there was a storm and some of Jesus's disciples were in the boat. when the storm was getting so terrible they couldn't see. then in the distance one of the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water. and i think that peter wanted to walk on the water with him, or something like that. anyways jesus was like ye of little faith and he told peter to walk on the water with him. and then peter saw this huge wave and peter was all like "my lord help me!" and Jesus pulled him out of the water when his was going to drown. My interpretation of this song is that the people singing are 'peter' and they are saying that we should walk on the water with him so we believe him. but not all seeing is believing. Jesus wants us to believe in him no matter what.
I don't know if my interpretation helped you or not but i think this is what this song is trying to say.

The disciples were told to cross over the lake as Jesus dispersed the crowd...later that evening there was a storm and Jesus was walking towards the boat on the water. Once the disciples recognized it was Jesus, Peter asked if he could walk out to Him...He trusted Jesus...but as he walked towards Him, he took his eyes off Jesus because he became afraid and began to sink. He cried out to Jesus to save him. Jesus grabbed his hand and Peter put his eyes (faith) on Jesus again and was saved from drowning in the water (sin). So the song is about keeping our eyes on Jesus...He keeps us walking on water...not drowning in our sin. Jesus saves us.  Matthew 14:22-33.
