Natalie Cole - You Lyrics

Oh, baby, sssss, oh, it's so good, hm, umm,
Umm, umm, umm, umm, umm, hm, get it, baby, get it
You've been with me through the hardest times
And you've kept my heart, body, soul and mind together
(you, you, you) it's been us two against the world
It ain't been easy but we sho' made it together
Thanks to (you, you, you) you, you, you
All I wanna say is baby (baby) oh my baby (baby)
I love you (I love you, hoo, hoo) hoo, hoo
Oh, yeah, baby (baby) oh my baby (oh my baby)
I love you, hoo, hoo (I love you, hoo, hoo)
Hoo, yeah, yeah

When my world had fallen to the ground
Your love was there always around
And I love you, and I love you, hoo, I love you, hoo, hoo
Ho, oh-, the world keeps changing in which we live
Sometimes people just don't have the time to give
That very special part of them that keeps our love together
Oh baby, take my love, I hope you keep this forever
You (I love you) God bless you
(I love you) I love you (I really do)
Oh, hoo (hey, hey and I love, I love you) I love you (I love you)
Yes I do, oh (I really do) it's you, baby, you, baby, oh
(hey, hey, and I love, I love you, I love you)
My, my, my, my, my, my (I really do) oh, yes

Natalie Cole You Comments

Natalie's definitely on my personal Top 5 list as far as American female vocalists go (Phyllis Hyman, Minnie Riperton, Teena Marie, and Lizz Wright make up the other four). 2nd half of the 70s was hers and hers ALONE, thanks in large part to that powerhouse songwriting/production team of Chuck Jackson and former husband Marvin Yancy she had in her corner right from the get-go. She was constantly compared to Aretha back then, but Aretha was nowhere near as musically diverse as Natalie was. Like father-like daughter, Cole family tree always did have some fairly deep roots on it when it came to raw talent...

Aretha might be the queen but I gotta go with the Kings daughter on this .

Natalie Cole singing the damn song. I don't care what you all say. She got plenty of soul.

    Yass LAWD!

I like Natalie version, I LOVE Aretha's version. My soul can feel the Queen's version deep down in my soul.

Aretha is the Queen of Soul and here the reason why. Natalie Cole is a great singer but she don't have soul that Aretha puts in this song. With Aretha, she make you feel it and live it, right then and there.

    C.... P....

Uh. I beg to differ. Natalie is very soulful here. No need for hating.

  6. E.... T....

I LIKE ARETHA'S VERSION WAY BETTER, SHE PUT MORE SOUL IN😭TO THE SONG; BUT MUCH RESPECT TO NATALIE COLE. R.I.P TO THEM BOTH!!!😢

Such a great song of an Aretha Franklin Classic

    T.... R....

Terrence Ragin, it was written in mind for Aretha...but was baby Natalie's first.

    T.... R....

They released it in the same year, with different lyrics, but Natalie's version was first.
