Nash, Graham - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes Lyrics
It's getting to the point where I'm no fun any more
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud
I am lonely
You make it hard
Remember what we've said and done and felt about each other
Oh, babe, have mercy
Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now
I am not dreaming
Tearing yourself away from me now, you are free
And I am crying
This does not mean I don't love you, I do, that's forever
Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret
Are you still listening
Fear is the lock, and laughter the key to your heart
And I love you
And you make it hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard
Friday evening
Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose
Tuesday morning
Please be gone, I'm tired of you
What have you got to lose
Can I tell it like it is
Help me I'm suffering
But listen to me baby
It's my heart that's suffering
Help me, I'm dying to lose
It's dyin' and that's what I have to lose
I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?
Will you come see me
Thursdays and Saturdays
What have you got to lose
Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song, don't be long
Thrill me to the marrow
Voices of the angels
Ring around the moonlight
Asking me, said she so free
How can you catch the sparrow
Lacy lilting lady
Losing love lamenting
Change my life, make it right
Be my lady
Do do do do do, do do do do do do
Do do do do do, do do do do
Que linda me la traiga Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Quiero solo visitarla alli
Y que triste que no puedo vaya
O va, o va
How beautiful it would be to bring me to Cuba
The queen of the Caribbean
I only want to visit you there
And how sad that I can't go
Oh go, oh go!

..good music is good music..regardless of time, labels..or prejudice..
Stephen Stills wrote this about his then-girlfriend, folk singer Judy Collins.
Rhythm Leslie guitar - fantastic!
I'm gonna be 66 tomorrow, thank God myself and this kind of music are still around.
That outro though
When speaking about this era kids , this is just to let you know , your grandma and grandpa weren't just cool - they were sub zero.
Brilliant The Prototype for the Eagles
Yeah, where the drummer sang and dueling guitars / conservative use of the organ defined them (rolls eyes)...
Do you guys have any idea how hard it was for Judy Collins to get a date after this song came out?
I was born in 1973 and this was still popular music on the radio. My dad was a DJ and we listened to everything but opera. I still love this stuff and listen to it now instead of the new stuff. They had it right back then.
Why don't people understand me after all this time?
I don't want to be popular. Why would I do that? It's all about me finding myself now. Certainly not pleasing anyone else. My kids are grown. I served my time. Everyone else is on their own. Who am I? Deeply, Truly. The Authentic Me. Where does she reside? They don't get it.
1.9k *dislikes*?!?! What in the tar nation?
best lyric ever written. I am prone to exaggeration. "It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore"
Stan Mann What about this lyric though, tell me what you think... "Ooh La La" try to guess what song it's from too. If you can -Kayla
P.S.
That's my name but i want to be called something else. You could try to guess that too. Good choice of Lyrics, thumbs up.
@x_x Haunted_Angel *..* the faces song about a grandpa telling his grandson about women
It's eric Clapton Layla. I knew it right off the bat. But i don't like dancing on demand.
And NEIL YOUNG
Born in 1955. Need I say anymore............
Tell it like it is...
Yes and for always...
I remember this song as a young child always liked listening to it brings back a lot of memories of my childhood so young and inocent life was when I was growing up good memories.
“Hey everybody, this is like our first show and we’re scared shitless!!!!!”
Or something like that
Can any one tell me what that’s from????
CSN at Woodstock
woodstock
Seen them in my home town,Cleveland, little buzzed can't remember the year it was definitely in 2000's, they came with Neil Young, $201.00 a ticket we were 12 rows back none of the security would let us out of our seats to go near the stage but I made it threw my Indians hat on the stage, Stephen Stills put on my hat and signed it, one of my treasures
Such a cool story behind this photo for the debut CSN album. As reported in Rolling Stone writer David Browne's excellent bio of the band, no one noticed that the guys were in the "wrong order" left-to-right for this LA photo shoot in 1969. On a whim, they had chosen the broken-down couch on the porch of this decrepit, vacant house to shoot the album's cover photo. So, they decided to go back the next day to get it right. Only when they did, the old house had been torn down. So, rather than pick a new site for the shoot, they went with this. Gotta love the vibe of that day. Croz is so goofy-grin stoned as Nash looks away. Keep rocking, guys.
Yes the late 60s and the 70s had the best music ever!!!! Now is computerized junk!
65 year old an still a hippie
At 50 This music brings back memories of my childhood and how free
We were!! This song rocks even though my generation is from the late 70s to late &0s... Thanks
For rocking on....
Palette; a pallet is quite different
Well...that's forever and for always...and I love you...will you come to see me Thursdays and Saturdays?
"I may be old but I got to see all the cool bands"
Hey, uh, anybody holding?
Got a laugh out of me brother and yes!
you can hear one track laying over the next. So much better than the remix
Best harmonies ever! Thankfully we can still listen and appreciate csn and all the others of this generation. Peace and love to you all ✌🏻
Right back at you girl!
Love the Latin thing at the end.
like-minded commie bastard, here.
so fuck off, Nazis
I'm almost 43, a baby in many eyes and minds. Understandable. I'm forever grateful to my parents who raised me while listening to music like this in the background of my childhood
My first album...
Brilliant guitar, excellent vocals and , save for fantastic bass line - no extras. Just pure talent. Unsurpassed.
I cannot comprehend any dislike of this song for ANY reason..Period
Maybe Judy Collins feels a bit awkward when she hears it but other than her...no dislike
@Morbus Lol! Too true
I can't imagine listening to csn than humping the boonies in Vietnam
very goog~~~
I got completely drunk with my sister and two scots in Polly Magoos in Paris.Being Irish it was inevitable. This song brings it all back🤣
Can't add much more except it was my first and favourite album. And I was like a big kid when I listened to it a few years ago when I actually travelled on the Marrakesh Express!
1969 - LOL!
All the "Stoners" in my English class, sitting in the back row, spacing out. Some of the busty chicks, not wearing bras. Nice scenery.
Great memories.
1.8 K dislikes? Who are these people? I wish I could just meet one of them. A human without a soul.....
the jingo kid was here
I'm never lonely and I'm never bored.
I'm 56 and this was normal everyday music on the radio,,, carly simon, you're so vain then grand funk I'm your captain is next.
They all loved Judy Collins. Wonder if she, (Sweet Judy Blue Eyes) loved them back?
Timeless
Live it while you got it. It may not be there tomorrow.
I’m 52. I LOVE this song. The harmonies are perfect. The guitar playing is superb. What a masterpiece!
I'm starting to wonder how many people come to old rock songs to write paragraphs of fanfic
Brilliant work on acoustic guitar
If you have never listened to the version of this song by Foxes and Fossils, you ought to. They do it justice.
Huh? Oh yeah , you are what you are,
Yeah, Ron, I 'll 64 in three weeks, I am with you on this, "lets not let the past decide who we are"
Song for Judy Collins
This song makes me wanna cry it’s that good
Only if they are tears of joy...scratch that...sometimes the soul has to bleed too..tomatoe potatoe!!! What have you got to loose?
1.8K people are letting the past remind them of who they are not now.
Regretfully true, watering the tree is the only way to freedom.
I'm not that old but this music lives on in the hearts and minds of all that hear it. I love the 60's & 70's music, listening in December of 2019!
Sharing this with my 13 year old grandson, he's getting a guitar that actually plays, instead of the rag he's been learning on, tomorrow, for Christmas. I'm thrilled to share his life & music!
Just makes me 😃 on the inside! 🎶 🍀
Was born in 83 but as a child I would play this record daily.....I still do even up to this day
what a fucking master piece and what a group
Again, all Stills guitars throughout. Nice vocal harmonies, and you make it hard...
Stained of a band to life in history. Great stuff came from this band. Lasted longer then the Beatles!!
Alvin Simon Theodore
If you've never listened to CSN on acid, while smoking a giant doob, keep your fucking mouth shut.
"QUE LIIIIIINDO QUE LE CANTO A CUBA" "LA REIIIIINA DE LA MAR CARIBE" " QUIERO SOOOOLO VISITARTE ALLI""Y QUE TRIIIIISTE QUE NO PUEDO, VAYA, AHA, AHA"
Sheer Masterpiece that will linger forever.
Who's listening to this song in 2020? Yeah, me neither, but soon, very soon ...
I like this song...and I speak Spanish...the last lyrics I hear...that's all Gibberish...I figure its supposed to be Spanish
Its Yiddish.
"QUE LINDO QUE LE CANTO A CUBA" "LA REINA DE LA MAR CARIBE" " QUIERO SOLO VISITARTE ALLI""Y QUE TRISTE QUE NO PUEDO, VAYA, AHA, AHA"
Wasn't this song about Steven Still's then girlfriend Judy Collins?
Its always about some bitch bro
Crosby, Stills, and Nash - perfection, free of shrillness.
2011, this was posted a while back. But even further back is the past reminding us of what we are now.
A coincidence of names I am sure.
Yep, I was there in the day and bought this album-wore it out. The originality and facile chords combined with harmonies I hardly thought possible made this a personal classic. There was something about the time as well, I admit. I was aware that America was the most musical land ever, and sadly, it's not anymore. The chief cause is the music business itself which rejects talent and destroys what it uses. It packages artists like they were window mannequins. I almost feel that some are bots.
Bought a second copy of this, wore that one out too! Peace brother!
Trying to understand 1.8k dislikes........
Guess she made it hard.
I miss my #1 gf Judy so damn much.
Thank God for the 60's-70's outstanding I remember !
I grew up with is concept
Keep Rock goin ,yeah
When I listen to this my neighbors do too.😎😎😎😎
This was written for Judy Collins - love this.
Hmmm..that's special😊lucky girl..special lady..you go girl
I'm hoping the people who dislike this, have more of an issue with it being a studio recording, and not the song itself.
Big album in my young life
I'm learned to harmonize in perfect mimic of all of their respective voices started from the time I was 5 and my mom played this album and So Far daily and always set the needle back to replay for us! Thanks ma ya old cool hippie, I miss you every day. See you in heaven...cuz you are so free how can I catch the sparrow?!
I love this when it came out as much as i do today. Bravo ⚘⚘⚘
wonderful
beautiful music is still played daily and this is part of my playlist and part of my soul
Methinks Neil Young harmonizing along with them
Circa 1961 here. Grew up listening to music just like this. I thank God our Heavenly Father every day that he allowed me to embrace life in that era. Love to all.
Dont compare Generations...
Music is Timeless...
You're just one key note away from being DUST.
Whoohoo man I was one happy camper growing up with CSN&Y. Yaaaayyy😁
Yep, I grew up with 'em too and know EXACTLY what you mean. :) :)
Get those dirty boots off the couch!
one of the worst songs i've ever heard. Rather listen to friday
Yes, this is a great song.
Beautiful voices huh?
I read something about the house used in this pic. They used it originally as a last minute backdrop as they were losing daylight, but were seated out of order. When they went back the next day to get the correct shot, the house was gone, it had been demoed.
Not saying that there aren't good bands today but nothing like we had in the 60s and 70s
vuelvan a Buenos Aires! son como el buen vino. Los amo <3
I'm 61, and if you had this album in the Telefunken (16 horn and metal tweeters, four 12 inch dual cone Pegasus speakers) it would cause a party if I played it loud enough. On a 1948 HiFi tube set making any stereo run and hide. Built in a destroyed country.
3:38 - chills!
