Nas - Remember The Times Lyrics

[Nas]
I think I can remember some...

Brenda the back-bender used to have me in the twister
Grabbed her up and left her at the Buena Vista
Chelsea used to tell me choke her while I stroke her
Stuck a Heineken bottle up in the ass, a real joker
Used to run my bubble bath, tons of laughs, sexy chick
Mad skills, she used to try to eat my excrement
Used to play Atari 1200, baby-sitter made me kiss her
Put hickeys on her stomach
Toya was a tomboy 'til we played catch a screw
Had her out past her curfew, Sheila had this perfume
that drove a nigga wild, was a child then, Gertrude
used to put my face in her crotch
Spun my tongue around in a circle while she watched
Eiserea knew I was a player, brought Fatima, loud screamer
While I blew clouds of reefer, they sucked juice out my uretha
While Marvin Gaye pumped from the speaker

[Chorus]
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, and all the wild things I used to do
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
Remembering the times it was on my mind, but none of them could touch you

[Nas]
Was only scared of them STDs, syphilis, VD and herpes
Daffy Duck-lookin' bitch burnt me, correction
Urinary tract infection, what I got for no protection
Was a horny dog, mornings waking up with a log
Dick stuck to my draws, wet dreams in the mind
Of a one-of-a-kind sex fiend, Justine was luscious wanna cuff us when fucked us
Me and her best friend, this thick Texan named Tamika, English teacher
Wedding ring on finger, bent her big ass over the fold-out sofa
The weather was cold and Loretta would throw on nothing but a thong
Under the coat and
Put a show on just to show me she loved me
She would undress and wait in zero below weather
In slippers and a sun dress for me to arrive
Kept a freak in the ride with her head in my lap, the steering wheel's high

[Chorus]
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, and all the wild things I used to do
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
Remembering the times it was on my mind, but none of them could touch you

[Nas]
Thank God I got bank god, so fuck pimpin'
Fuck broke condoms, pills and penicillin
Abortion clinics, I was one of the best who did it
Lesbian shit, wheelchair girls and midgets
Twin sisters, cousins, mothers and daughters, some wasn't no quarters
Long chin, some with funny odors
Long blond weaves, overweight, cottage cheese
Some I paid college fees, then they strip tease
And it's sad I don't remember great times that made me drool
And the sex gave me flashbacks when I was like eww
Mature with it now dog, here's the side of Nas
Principles are lined up, things prioritized
Se mamma I left that alone, faded memories, the reason that I'm grown
It'd be senseless for us to lie about our old experiences, no longer
are we tempted

[Chorus]
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
(now we could properly begin this)
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, and all the wild things I used to do
Remember the times I hung with the dimes, remember the times I fucked a few
Remembering the times it was on my mind, but none of them could touch you

put my face in her crouch and spun my tongue in a circle!!

  30. L.... ....

So Nas talking about sticking bottles in bitches asses and bitches tryna eat his shit is somehow better than Lil Uzi and SahBabii? Is this what backpackers actually believe?

    L.... ....

And you are the cancer that is killing hip hop. Your inability to enjoy anything that isn't "real" and hatred of anything that could be deemed as "pop" is disturbing. It seems like that you don't actually listen to hip hop because you like it, but rather because you think it makes you cooler. I don't give a fuck if an artist is real or not. I don't give a fuck that Dr. Dre uses ghostwriters because his shit sounds good. I don't give a fuck if Future doesn't actually drink lean because his shit sounds good. You would feel the same too if you actually enjoyed hip hop for what it is, a form of musical expression. I suggest that you stop caring about how real a rapper is and listen to these albums:

    Future - DS2
    Young Thug - JEFFERY
    Chief Keef - Finally Rich
    SahBabii - S.A.N.D.A.S.
    Lil Yachty - Lil Boat
    Migos - Culture
    Travis Scott - Rodeo
    A$AP Rocky - At.Long.Last.A$AP
    Kanye West - Graduation
    YG - Still Brazy
    Crime Mob - Crime Mob
    SpaceGhostPurrp - NASA: The Mixtape
    Drake - Thank Me Later
Kid Cudi - Man on the Moon: The End of Day
Death Grips - The Money Store
    Young Pappy - 2 Cups Pt. 2
21 Savage & Metro Boomin - Savage Mode
Sicko Mobb - Super Saiyan Vol. 1
    A$AP Ferg - Trap Lord
Mike Jones - Who Is Mike Jones?

All of these albums are either not real, pop, or both. If you just stop caring about how many bodies these artists have or how much crack they sold, you'll find that these all sound fucking amazing.

    L.... ....

First, of all based on your list you have even worse taste in music than I could have ever imagined. I mean I live in Houston, and even I will admit that Mike Jones is easily one of the worst rappers of all time. He had a few catchy songs. But he is garbage. Also, that album came out over a decade ago. I don't know how that is an example of modern music.

Kanye West's Graduation album also came out a decade ago.

Crime Mob's album came out like 15 years ago.

A lot of the other artists you named are some of the worst "rappers" in history. And some of them are good. Although, I'm not down with artists wearing dresses on the cover like your boy Young Thug. Maybe you are into that shit, but I am not.

  31. N.... N....

Lonzo Ball is a fucking idiot.

  49. f.... d....

this track alone was worth me buying this album. I remember playing this joint over and over again the first time I ever heard it

    f.... d....

    freddie dejesus Me too!

    f.... d....

@Dwayne Whitehead This was before that; 'I' played it in 2004 (on the bootleg) the same that the album was released.

    f.... d....

You wasn't the only that had this on repeat this really stuck to my brain!!

  50. T.... f....

Lyrical genius. Its almost funny how good he is sometimes and how he`s playing with words like toys, for example 1:18 to 1:27.

    T.... f....

Love what he does from :27 - :45....
Toya was a tomboy 'til we played catch and screw
Had her out past her curfew, Sheila had this perfume
That drove a nigga wild, was a child then, Gertrude
Used to put my face in her crotch
Spun my tongue around in a circle while she watched
Eiserea knew I was a player, brought Fatima, loud screamer

  51. C.... S....

...but none them could touch you.

  52. l.... M....

I know this song damn there word for word, and I only mess up like 3 times dead ass

  53. m.... ....

lol he's the fucking illest & realest

  54. r.... a....

Psychologically I feel nas really admires his teenage childhood years he sings a lot about that however we were all a lot more innocent then even if we were getting laid it was just more pure you reach a point in your life where mentally you can't be that innocent anymore

    r.... a....

he still stuck on the loss of best friend and not finishing school

    r.... a....

    I Concur!

    r.... a....

So you toss him so you can express that internal feeling you were feeling?

  55. r.... a....

Deffinitly gives you a 90s vibe hmmm feels good I hate today's bullshit music. That decade was just a big one for this kind of culture America every decade is weird and unique currently I'm not impressed tho the early 2000s was the last time I remeber anything unique happening as far as creativity goes

    r.... a....

real american listen to j.cole and not his most popular songs. try his mixtapes first

    r.... a....

real american sounds like 90s rap to 70s beat, perfect

  56. r.... a....

Nas is the best rapper that has ever exited and currently exists better then tupac and biggie smalls kind of bothers me he is not given as much credit as he deserves it's probably because he plays by his own rules and he isn't owned still in my opinion lyrical genius always has a powerful message east coast rap NY where rap was born

    r.... a....

    How old are you?

    r.... a....

    Goodbye Hoe

    r.... a....

Don't wait til im dead to say i was the best-Nas

    D.... R....

I felt that when he said dick stuck to my draws 😂😂

  66. A.... ....

the lyrics man, some of us will feel identified with this song

  67. K.... J....

NAS is real hip hop no matter 2004 or 2014 or 2015 or 2016 still my favorite song today check it out love slow down beats like this one NY stand up

    K.... J....

I can consign that. I mean, if I ever had to make an album, I would want the same image as this one.. Just the album k. General is amazing. But you can't recreate something that was once (still is) great.

    K.... J....

Nas is real hip hop, I just laugh at youngster who say that there is no such thing as real hip hop and it's all the same, that I need to stop labeling what is hip hop and what is not..that's all a bunch of bullshit coming from youngsters who think that iheart radio stations play real hip hop when it's all bs garbage music.

  68. A.... D....

I did not like this album overall. Way too many bad tracks, but I loved this song. Soulful ass beat

    A.... D....

+Ahmad Daniels please guys explain what is wrong with this album, I don't get it.   the guy was moving from hoodlife to grown life was that problem you couldn't relate

    A.... D....

+tratney First off relating is one part of appreciating something and also isn't really necessary when it comes to enjoying the music. Just because someone says something that you can say "oh I've been there" doesn't make the song automatically sound better. I've never been to paris but Niggas in Paris is a good song and when I go I probably won't do what jay-z or kanye did, but that doesn't lessen the merit of the song. Everyone goes through their own relative transitions in life, but in art how you tell that story is the most important thing at least if your goal is to engage with others.

My beef with the album doesn't come from me saying saying the concept of the album isn't valid. My beef is that this album as a whole is very long and features a lot of boring songs. The beats are pretty shitty(Nas really struggles with getting good beats a lot), The lyrics are fine... but that's kind of the issue for me. They are just FINE. Nothing really mind blowing and when you combine that boring beat selection and long album length you just get a project that wears out its welcome by the time its over.

and incase I'm not being clear enough. I can like a long album, but imo I want you to make every song count. I enjoy don't filler in tv shows and I don't like it in my music either. I'd rather you cut out all the garbage if I DONT NEED IT. If it's needed I'll accept it, but it isn't the case here. Beats are important! if it's not then fucking get rid of it and rap acapella goddamit, but if you have a beat in there then make it fucking good it's music jesus fucking christ.

Nas is notorious for coming out with a lot of crappy albums and everything isn't really memorable outside illmatic and stillmatic for me. When an album like Life is good comes out if I compare it to all of the disappointing projects he puts out then its hit! but when I compare it to the entire landscape of music that I'm listening to it's just ok.

so no it's not about me not relating its about the album mostly sounding like a long dirty fart and then sometimes the fart managed to engage a substantial portion of my brain. Thats an overstatment though. I didn't hate this album or anything like that. I just didn't like very much. It's mostly forgettable music and that's not everything is going to grab you, not everything is going to be horrible either. It's a spectrum.

Random Rant: I always see that excuse pop up in youtube comments when ppl are defending stuff. "oh you don't like this rick ross album because you don't relate" fucking rick ross is lying in his music he doesn't even relate to his own fucking music and neither do half the fucking ppl listening to his music, but you can still listen to a song and ask yourself does this sound good or not. Theres goddamn music that doesn't even have lyrics in it. Do you fucking relate to a goddamn jazz instrumental? Do you listen Kool and the Gangs Summer madness instrumental and get upset because you can't relate to the incredible mood it creates?

    A.... D....

+Ahmad Daniels I can appreciate your opinion, my beef is really trying to understand what is so wrong with the album, I have all his releases and what I find is growth through it which is what I appreciate, as far as his beats go, he said he does that on purpose cause he wants people to listen to what he has to say and not the music.  Something if you like his lyrics then he accomplished his goals........

    A.... D....

Ahmad Daniels 100 on your rant

  69. G.... M....

Jazzy, old school rhythm. As usual, his wordplay is ON POINT!

  70. G.... F....

    tha realizes thx bra

  71. J.... ....

  72. J.... R....

Damn I can remember how young I was when I 1st got this album. I used 2 play this as I went 2 sleep. # real music. something that alot of artist are missing nowadays

  73. J.... J....

This album to me is better than stillmatic

    J.... J....

That's crazy because I played this Lp mad times over Stillmatic

    J.... J....

No sir. Stillmatic is top 3 of his work. But...I just thank the Most High for NAS. Hip Hop artist at their finest. Because of him...no other culture can stole this art form of Ours. Peace

    G.... ....

100% agree. Have said this since it came out. Cut out the "OK" songs and this thing is str8 amazing back to front. He could have really cemented his legacy even further ...

    G.... ....

+illusciato 150%dissagree :??why??:if we lie about our own experiences:like cutting out the Ok songs then they would not be GREAT songs to compare to ,they would be only GREAT and i think and nas also agrees i dont think u do that there cant be nigth without day ,good without evil and great without ok or even "not great". but HE SAYS " YOUR BEST SUCCESS IS MY WORST BLUNDER" i guess some people forget about how many"lies are swallowed before reaching the Truth our truth .so whst u said is 151%blasphemy u cant cut out the ok but embrace them cause they got u to" GREATNESS" sone ramdom tougths from THE kid :THE DREAF1 what?

    B.... ....
