Murray, Anne - Yucatan Cafe Lyrics

There's a big fan that's slowly turnin'
In a Yucatan Cafe
The waitress works beneath
Both night and day

And they'll find, they'll find that lately
I'm spendin' all my time
Goin' down to see
That singin' man of mine

Maybe it's wrong
My mamma might be right
Seeing a boy I don't know every night

Maybe it's time
I try to let you be
Or maybe it's love
At last that's come to me

Let's walk out to the ruins
And look up at the moon
And wonder what those Mayans used to do

You know they might be watchin' us
So let's stay for a while
And they'll make some love
And make those Mayans smile

Maybe it's wrong
My mamma might be right
Seeing a boy I don't know every night

Maybe it's time
I try to let you be
Or maybe it's love
At last that's come to me

Maybe it's love
At last that's come to me

Murray, Anne Yucatan Cafe Comments
  1. D.... W....

I worked at Capitol Records when this album was released and altho I REALLY love Anne Murray, a little known artist named Colleen Peterson realeased an album almost the same time. It contained the same song, but a much better version I think.  Yet I can't find it in any searches.

    D.... W....

It's on here listed under the title "Maybe It's Love."

I really like this song, beautiful melody, theme and words. Years ago, when I listened in passing, I thought she was saying 'lions' in the 2nd verse instead of Mayans. Certainly makes more sense, LOL!

Excellent romantic theme, Best from her, ever.

+Francisco Gonzalez - Years ago, I had to be careful how often I played this, because it made me buy clothes too often.
