Murray, Anne - Bidin' My Time Lyrics
I can't believe that you're honestly thinking of leaving me
Cause I thought that leaving really wasn't even on your mind
I'm drowning in tears drowning constantly nearer to misery
Just bidin' my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me.
What to say when I see you
But when I see you my tears get in the way
I spend my nights making up things I might have to say to you
To stop you from going yet keep you from knowing how I feel
But till the light says goodbye to the night and your face I see
I'll just be bidin' my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me.
Over and over I practice every day
What to say when I see you
I spend my nights making up things I might have to say to you
To stop you from going yet keep you from knowing how I feel
But till the light says goodbye to the night and your face I see
I'll just be bidin' my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me.
Bidin' my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me.

Bidin' my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me
My God, this is a beautiful song.
Glenn Johnson Found it!Loved this song when i first heard it year`s ago.Just great to hear this again.Thanks.
...bidin my time until I make the big exit!
By a mystery, a lyric popped into mind: "biding my time while the glow from the wine makes a fool of me."
Is that the way it went? Who sang it? I Googled. Of course. Anne Murray.
I gave passing respect to the song in '69 and in the years that followed, when it received frequent airplay. But did I really listen? It took me fifty years to listen: to hear the artistry and sincerity that can't be taught. Thank you for the longevity that allowed me to live long enough to appreciate this moment.
Eva,
I heard this the first time when it was released in 1969. I knew that some day this song would be perfect for somebody that I had fallen deeply and totally in love with - and that there would be and could be only be one such person in the entire world.
Eva, that person is you even though you were not even born yet in 1969. It was from that moment I fell deeply and inescapably in love with you and it will be everyday until forever.
Funny that you reflect on this song that way. I think my mom shares your thoughts on this. This song must have sort of been her theme song as she left behind what I think she felt was the love of her life, my uncle Gary, whom she met at a Parent Without Partners group mtg. She moved our family from Iowa to California to track down the one that got away, a sister who ran away to California to live with my Grandmother after she was sexually assaulted by her step dad. My mom was torn between Gary and a man she met while in CA on a short visit to get my sister there and out of Iowa. A palm reader, sadly enough I have to say, told her she would meet a tall dark handsome man in CA and that she did. But this man whom my mother did marry after we moved there, turned out to be a deeply disturbed Vietnam veteran. The marriage lasted but 8 months and my mother always questioned why she left Gary even though she did remarry a wonderful man and in a marriage that lasted for 25 yrs til he passed away in 1999. That same year, I was married to the love of my life (still married) and we had Anne Murray Snowbird played by the DJ during the reception. But I think this particular song always reminded her of Gary and I think til she passes away it always will. Uncle Gary is no longer living but he lives on in her mind and ours and like the Titanic, she will carry that reminder of him even though my step dad was a wonderful guy. But she told me once that he just didn't trip her trigger and make bells ring in her ears. Just thought I'd share this with you.
The purity and sweet perfection of Anne's voice is crystal clear in this song. The pride of Nova Scotia and Canada!
Love this song Bidin” My Time👍👏👏
Have always loved Annie
My mother loved Anne Murray.
The best!!❤love u Anne
I will never forget seeing and hearing her song this exquisite song on "The Glen Campbell" television show when she barely was known in the United States and seemed to be so different from any other singer both in sound and image; she stood stock still when she sang her songs and that was spell-bounding. She was, of course, absolutely beautiful and wildly talented.
Wayne Brasler you right hermano...Anne Murray is the best singer ....saludos desde Monterrey México...adoro sus canciones
I wish they still were writing songs with skill and style for Top 40 like they used to...
Beautiful
my all-time favorite song by this beautiful and talented multiple Grammy winning vocalist. Perfection.
She has such a beautiful voice!! Being a "bluenoser" myself, I'm very proud of her. :D
This song is one of my all time favorites. Thank you for making it available.
This also appeared on her Snowbird album in the US, because I have it.
Great Gene MacLellan song sung perfectly by Ms Murray.
