I Love it do much!! The first lines are like a foggy memory of this guys last words and the rest of the song is him being angry and not wanting to accept the fact that he is dead. It sounds like he wants revenge but still kinda loves his girlfriend. White lies version is like the gost wanting the girl to understand fully what she has done and how it should make her feel. This song is so climactic no matter who is singing it

very good cover indeed. but i prefer the melancholy of the original version.

I like them both. This one has a banjo and everything is better with a banjo.  The other one has an awesome quintessential goth voice. I actually heard this version first and knew exactly what the original would sound like. The fact is that the SONG is great, regardless of who is doing it.

Prefer the white lies version by far, it's more emotional.

I have noticed a common trend in the comments of this video, which version is better. The simple answer is they are both great, no need to state which is worse or which is better, both bands have done what they do well.

so why comment on one of their songs?

It's a very nice cover, really. But... I don't know. I can't feel the passion and the rage of someone who needs more time to resolve unfinished business.

Ok ok I love the white lies version is deep and heartfelt and gives this burning empty feeling I love it but I freaking love the mumford and sons version because it actually paints a story when you listen to it and shows more Passion unlike the white lies version . I think its better depending on what your looking for

As for myself (seeing how much my opinion is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT as well) I also prefer this version because I can't imagine another band I'd be able to listen to for 8 hrs straight on one car ride- and Benji and Marcus give me premature ventricular contractions, and it's happppppppppppier!

I like the White Lies version more, I don't hate this though. The original is my favourite of their songs - it's so harrowing and sad, I think it's beautiful. People don't appreciate how comforting sad music can be to some people.

people need to get their panties out of bunches. because M&Ss covered it, it's like a whole different song. So why compare it to the White Lies version. they have their orginal version, and mumford has theirs. love them both. i do. Don't be dollop-heads now.
