Mullins, Rich - O Come All Ye Faithful Lyrics
O come all ye faithful, ye lovers come sing
A cry from the mountains, a call to come worship your coming King
Come praise Him with music, and honor Him with dance
Behold He comes quickly and He carries His reward in His hands
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
Hallelujah
And build Him a highway on the music of praise
For the Light of the True Morning
Pierced through the darkness His golden rays
Sound loud all you trumpets, a call to all men
To come to His Temple and with solemn reverence to worship Him
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
And go to the city and sing out the song
For the walls of the Temple will be shaken
And the music will transcend the concrete and the chrome
And the minds of the children will waken
Sing 'Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to men!'
Sing 'Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to men!'
Sing 'Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to men!'
O come all ye faithful, ye lovers come sing
A cry from the mountains, a call to come worship your coming King
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
Hallelujah, let every creature sing hallelujah
Hallelujah

Mullins, Rich O Come All Ye Faithful Comments
i am trying to find something Rich did that i didn't like. even the fact that he died shortly before he was supposed to join the corrupted catholic church is a miracle of God's grace.. hope to jam with you in heaven, brother. thank you for all you left behind
Here's another version, I believe the first performance of this song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeWQas-EtkU
Instead of an anthill will be the fir tree
It's, "the trees of the field clap their hands to the tune and the mountain sings"
Oops, it's "the trees of the field clap their hands to the tune that the mountain sings."
and "Instead of a nettle the myrtle will be."
It goes
O come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant oh come ye oh come ye to Bethlehem
This is Rich Mullins' O Come All Ye Faithful, not the Christmas carol of the same name. I heard Rich Mullins sing this back in the 1970s.
U GOT THE LYRICS WRONG LOL HAHAHAHAHAHA
WOW!! Thank you for the words.
This is the most incredible piano piece I have ever heard. Like someone said...it stirs my soul to the depths! I want to sing as loud as I can with it and run and jump and dance!
Does anybody know when he recorded this?
oldtreasures According to the YouTube channel "Rich Mullins Early Music" this is from February 1980.
Part 3
Sing 'Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and good will to men!'

PART 2 of the True Morning
Pierced through the darkness His golden rays

Not sure how much I can get in one, here are the words and this is from COYN, it's pretty "official". Hope it helps!
(PART ONE)

For the Light (cont)
I thought it was "coming King", but I get lyrics wrong often :D Does that great web site, he's had it since Rich was still here, "Calling Out Your Name", that is a GREAT place for all things Rich. I bet he has the lyrics.
I have loved this one from the second i put the CD in the player, I can't put my finger on exactly what... i like the poetry and the Scripture. And Rich's very realness. Amy Grant said something about Rich giving away his best stuff (and now I am wondering if she said that or someone else, it is late lol) - anyway, he wrote this but was it Debby Boone who recorded it? What a gift to get to have Rich himself singing it. I'd love to sing it in church but it's been 20 yrs since I sang in public.
Thanks for posting this song.
I can offer some help:
"A cry from the mountains a call to come worship your Godly King."
"And hope he comes quickly and he carries his reward in his hands"
"And build Him a highway on the music of praise
For the Light of the True Morning peers through the darknesses golden haze"
@funniefarm5 Thank you!
@lyons8804 Thank you!
"Instead of a nettle will be the fir tree
instead of a briar, a myrtle will be
and it shall be as a memorial to our God
a sign everlasting that won't be cut off"
