This song is hilarious in the fact they were asked to do a song for the "Singles" movie soundtrack, and they wrote this song like mocking the whole scene, haha. It's fucking great. They like only spent $160 or something to record it, but got paid thousands for the soundtrack. I think they all bought houses after that paycheck.

@beeswaxlike well you were on the right track. it's people who become famous but it's a joke that they are (ie cobain being god) when they are just another one of the group. And in reality, as kathleen hanna says, real musicians have day jobs. Mark Arm works in the sub pop warehouse.

@mlgmoxie Haha, fuck that ruined it for me after over 12 years of knowing it. I don't listen to all the words carefully, so I just assumed the point was that a lot of ppl will move to Seattle to make it and then face hard reality and end up working at fast food joints. What's the real context and the full lines?
