Mudcrutch - Scare Easy Lyrics
My love's an ocean
You better not cross it
Yeah I've been the distance
And I need some rest
Yeah I had somebody once
I've been running
Like a man possessed
I don't scare easy
Don't fall apart
When I'm under the gun
You can break my heart
And I ain't gonna run
I don't scare easy
For no one
Yeah, I am a loser
At the top of my game
I should have known
To keep an eye on you
Now I got a sky
That ain't never the same
Yeah, I got a dream
That don't ever come true
I don't scare easy
Don't fall apart
When I'm under the gun
You can break my heart
But I ain't gonna run
I don't scare easy
For no one
Sun going down
On a canyon wall
I got a soul
That ain't never been blessed
Yeah and I'm a shadow
At the back of the hall
Yeah, I got a sin
I ain't never confessed
And I don't scare easy
Don't fall apart
When I'm under the gun
You can break my heart
And I ain't gonna run
I don't scare easy
For no one
And I don't scare easy
Don't fall apart
When I'm under the gun
You can break my heart
But I ain't gonna run
I don't scare easy
For no one

Mudcrutch Scare Easy Comments
Tom is the reason I want to play bass. Makes me want to be talented in music, good at multiple instruments and actually great lyrics(ya know, like this song and every song Tom has written).
I was so ashamed of myself because I don't usually get why people want bits of inspiring people as talismans or something; I love this song and I really wanted to earn that fringe jacket, so I saved up and it had to be real, nor could it hurt animals, total woose if that's a word, and then I passed a pretty good grade on the mandolin and I can actually (this means barely approximate) Mike Campbell on It'll all work out … so my sis went out and got me the bloody jacket, which I don't deserve, but I worked for it!!!! and Tom is with us all always. Good will to all in 2020.
We miss you Tom...but you made a huge impact...https://youtu.be/EMmo-wr-a6g
I don't scare easy when I'm under the gun.
Gran bel brano dei Mudcrutch e Tom Petty insieme. Canzone che è stata utilizzata come sigla di coda del film western "Appalosa", con Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen e Jeremy Irons. E' proprio un bel sentire. Bravi! :-)
Still love this song ❤️
One big flaw: at a certain point the song ends whereas it should keep going on forever and ever!
My go to video lately...........will never get over this guy...........no matter what group he was with, Tom was the real deal!
I'm a loser at the top of my game. Wow, what a line...
Saudade!
Such a one-of-a-kind voice
Happy Birthday Tom!
So good, RIP Tom Petty..absolute legend. I dare say Mud Crutch would have been huge too. Already 3 members of the Heart Breakers to begin with. Pure gold.
Ed Harris alway's comes to mind when I hear this song.
Tom playing bass? Was he the bass player in the original band?
Yes he was the bass player in the original Mudcrutch.
Positing this just minutes prior to Oct 2nd 2019 which is 2 yrs since we lost Tom. I loved both Mudcrutch albums. This song is one of the best. I also loved "Beautiful World" by Randall Marsh. How great Randall must've felt drumming for Tom again after all those years.
Just a comment resulting from watching the Bogdanovich doc Runnin' Down a Dream after a while; some comments on the quality of Tom's voice. Well, what does that mean? Does it have to be pretty? Hard to imagine this music with lush background and vocals; it would self-destruct. I compare this music to Peter Gabriel who is mellifluous and it works for him, but his music is different, and rightfully so. Every time Sting starts to sound romantic and beautiful I change the song. Also has anyone else noticed that at his best Tom has a 4 octave range and is consistently dead-on relative pitch -- can't be said of very many great artists out there -- so many songs were rehearsed and performed live in the clubhouse with the minimum of tweaking -- you hear it in live performances , the ultimate test. And yes sometimes he sounds like Dylan and sometimes a bit like the Byrds; he's got the ultimate musician's ear, natural cameleon(sp) Just had to say it; no-one like this band, ever. In the circs, should say bands, which is an entirely different set of appreciative noises from up here in the nose bleed seats.
love the drummer...groove king
Everyone who saw Mudcrutch live are the luckiest fans. Rest In Peace Thomas Earl Petty October 20, 1950 - October 2, 2017
I miss you tom youre the greatest
My favourite part is the bit from 00:01 to 4:39
❤️❤️❤️❤️😎😎😎
All 287 of you that disliked this are crazy
I could listen to this song 1,000,000 times, and not get tired of it.
wow, aug 28 maybe, 2019 you google youtube tom petty and it's like Mary Poppins has been and cleaned it all up. All so neat and tidy just the way he liked it. He really should have spent more time at home communicating directly with Adria and I DONT CARE about his cabin in the woods breakdown after his divorce; that lasted no more than a year, probably less, and I know she had a lot of responsibility but this … is … weird. And yes John B below song is criminally underrated; a total masterpiece.
Appaloosa
So cool that Petty brought the boys back together. Can you imagine missing out on being a Heartbreaker, but years later TP is like "hey let's make an album". Marsh sounds great, looks like he's having fun. Like now you get to play with Tom Petty and Mike and Benmont again. Kickass!
De Balm,. Thank you for Sharing This Treasure!!
La sua voce potrebbe tranquillamente essere confusa con quella di Bob Dylan :)
Tom said he just wanted to be a part of a band. Might be the best band of all time. I forgive you guys for blowing up my speakers
R.I.P. to Tom and great R n R.
I truly miss this guy.
Here because of Appaloosa
Look at how much joy is on Randy’s face...how awesome
2:28..look at that filthy fretboard....adds tone...lol...I don’t clean mine either
Doesn’t get any cooler than this
Thank you WYEP a npr station in Pittsburgh that turned me on to this funky cut. Support public radio and shame on you I❤radio ,and radio.com and their stations.
Mike Campbell's sound is timeless. His guitar solos always fit the song. It's been that way since day one with he and Tom. No pretentiousness, no noodling around; precise, classy and dripping with a sweet tone that comes from a lifetime of listening to and playing music. That he has a good ear for deadly guitar and amp combinations is the icing on the cake.
It don't get a whole lot better...
Absolutely LOVE this song! Can't get enough of it.
ชอบฟังมากครับ
the drummer is the shit
Mike Campbell's B-bender Tele's licks are what makes this song for me.
Tom Petty great and wonderful
Meanwhile, Seemingly, Two Thirds of the World are content listening to absolute garbage with no soul
Only 7.7K
What a Joke
DAMN!!! Sure miss this guy...
This is the best. The
I just love this song! So much talent, and this song is rarely posted! Shameful, I say!
God I miss Tom.
Benmont Tench always looks like a villain from some 70s/80s movie to me
I'm so sad that we won't have more of Tom.....what a loss
Wow, coincidences abound. And I had a dream that never came true.
DAMN, I miss this guy.
AWESOME tune!
Simple great melodic rock, no Autotune, no synths, just great all around!
He died in September 2017 almost 2 year, thank you for your legacy Tom Petty i love where ever you are, i Pray for you!
This could have been a TPATH hit... Another great song...
Sometimes temporary sounds like Billy talent
Just heard this this song in a sporting good store immediately loved it, figured it had to be Tom Petty but couldn’t find it under his name... finally found it. I was right and wrong.
I love how Mike's guitar is worn all over the entire fret board. It's like yes, that is probably Mike's guitar.
The cabal got u.
Whereever you are, Tom Petty ..I want to go There, shake your hand ."Thank you".
One of the greatest rock n roll songs ever written
Cool! stop by our channel and see what kind of jams were doing down in Miami
... beyond brilliant ... timeless and eternal ... God Bless you Tom !!!
I love music, but this song is amazing 😱
Ive always loved Tom Petty, and I have to admit It wasn't until after he died that I watched an amazing 4 hour documentary on Netflix about Tom, and then that got me heavy into Mudcrutch. This band was sick. Beyond sick.
RIP Tom Petty
"I'm a loser at the top of my game"- one of the greatest lines in any song ever recorded and words I live by daily
Baby please hurry...I don't know how much longer I can wait...I love you so much...I'm so lonely without you sweetheart 😥😥😥
Am D Em G ! I love this chord progression! So many great songs written in Am! This song. Mr Jones by Counting Crows has a very similar progression to this also.
Superb!!! Menacing, sullen -- with a touch of Byrd's guitar work and the Stone's Bill-Charlie rhythm section!!!
s
Very beuthiful music country.
henry the horse rode tom petty across the finish line
Natural-born killers!!!!!~E
Absolutely love this song....
Missin' Tom Petty, right about now....
On the Running Down a Dream doc it was said that Mudcrutch was disbanded because there were "weak links" in the band. If this band has weak links it still sounds 100x's better than any sh*t on the radio these days.
wow what a voice this guy as ,,,,,such genius sublime joy ,,,,utter magic lolxx
I miss TP
love it
I don't scare easy either babe.... love always prevails 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Rest in peace and thank you for your music.
A true genius.
No one rocked as cool as Petty. He was a blessing for the world of music.
Tom Petty... whatever band he jammin’ with... the music just flows... 🤙
Still can't believe you're gone ☹
If Sheryl Crow can find this sound, she could have a real comeback. She has a great voice, but her rock sound was bland. She needed this backdrop.
Man, just discovered this tune. Tom Petty never ceases to amaze me...
Mike Campbell !!!
Still hurts so much losing Tom....
Appaloosa
348 ain't that the Truth
Mike Campbell
So beautiful!! So long ago! Miss you Tom and all of you! I use to dig you guys back then when i would come to Gainesville back in the 70sand early 80s to hang out with friends from the university😚
