Robert Haas , my son in law is a fan so for their honeymoon (a year late) my daughter is giving them a trip to NY City for that reunion. I just wanted to hear this band because Jerred plays drums in a band that to me is loud and head banging music that I can’t even understand the lyrics. Ok I am 60 and love country music. since the late 90's i had some problems with Patton' singing being too grandiloquent (murikans are a lot like that guys don't forget top leave a like yo), but on the other hand the composition is just so dense and great on every point of view... so i come back to Bungle every year, guilty pleasure... Mr Bungle make time enduring art. RHCP generally makes transient radio friendly music, with a few exceptions.

Bill Hicks I agree about Mr Bungle, but I disagree about RHCP. Most of their best songs are not radio friendly, in the sense that they are long, largely instrumental, and not really poppy enough for mainstream radio. RHCP certainly CAN make a radio hit when they want to, but most of their later albums are real soundscapes that should be listened to in their entirety.

I don't like RHCP but they're not radio friendly especially considering some of the lyrics they got.

Toprak Koç some of their songs are definitely not, especially their earlier stuff. But most of their songs from By the Way, Stadium Arcadium, or The Getaway are very clean. They don't throw around profanities just for the sake of it like they did when they were younger. Not that I have anything against that lol, but their music from the last 15 years or so is much more mature and melodic.

God no - it's a pastiche of melodramatic 60's/70's pop (specifically Burt Bacharach), so of course it romantic.

@HorrorMaci Actually, the feud between the two go all the way back to the release of The Real Thing, by Patton's other band, Faith No More. The song Epic on that album featured Patton almost rapping, much like Kiedis of RHCP tries to rap every now and again, but fails, difference being Patton's vocals were actually good on Epic. Epic also had a music video which sparked the feud between the two frontmen, as in it Patton was dressed much like Kiedis, had long hair much like Kiedis, and just all around looked like an idiot, much like Kiedis, who upon seeing the video thought: "He must be ripping me off!!!" And so RHCP started to fuck over Mr. Bungle at every turn (because it was easier to pick on than FNM), and Mr. Bungle treated the whole issue like the demented adults they are, and ignored it a few little stabs (like the Halloween show where they dressed up like RHCP, and played a few of their songs mockingly) aside.

I'm new to mr.bungle.  Liking what I've heard so far, but I'm genuinely curious, why do I keep seeing "fuck anthony kiedis" all over the videos? haha

Because mr bungle wanted Californication as the title for this album, but somehow rhcp got the rights for it instead of mr bungle, i don't know the exact story. After that mr bungle made fun of rhcp in some of their live shows, so i guess diehard mr bungle fans keep spamming "fuck anthony", but i might be wrong.

Mr Bungle was kicked off major festivals that RHCP where headlining. The feud goes way back with Faith No More's epic where Anthony Kiedis was being immature about the whole thing and making public jokes about Mike Patton which FNM ignored and laughed off. The ridicule continued till Mike and Mr Bungle his first band decided to get their own back when they found out they were removed from the bill that very morning so they did the Halloween special you can look it up on you tube where they parodied RHCP songs and dressed up like them, being them too which is so funny to see :P AK also got their record pushed back cause of the similar name. So Bungle lost money and revenue thanks to Anthony douchebag.... That is why you will see Bungle / FNM / Patton fans hating on Anthony..

People just don't know or forget part of the good music, especially bands from before the 2000's, the year 2000 for me is a shame for humanity in terms of music, yes some cool bands appeared in 2000 to now but more VERYGOOD bands disapeared than appeared... That's just... sad.

Um... you guys are aware that just because a guy sings in a band, that doesn't mean that he writes and composes everything, right? I mean, there are four other guys who compose, arrange and write. This constant prattle about Mike Patton makes it sound like he's some kinda of super-genius puppet-master. He is one talented man in a group of other equally talented musicians.
