Tell me, ppl. Just what exactly you do not like on the sound? I'd like to understand. It's earthy. Kind of raw. It'd supposed to sound like that, goes along with the type of songs they put on the album. Kevin Elson is not somebody who doesn't know what he's doing. Quite the opposite actually. The album stands out. Weather you like it or hate it, it's not mediocre. Great job.

I have this song on repeat in my car CD player. This is awesome and sounds great. The Riff is great by Paul Gilbert. Mr Big have nailed this one. It is a classic. Love the new album as well. 25 years and going strong. A great band that stands the test of time even with their old school songs.

If you got the CD you know pretty well now there's nothing wrong either with mix or sound. Kevin Elson is one if the greats.

Are you all really judging the quality of an album based on a YouTube video/audio? I can play this same exact file on 3 different browsers and it sounds totally different on each one, not to mention every one of you are hearing an audio track that is NOT high def. I own the CD and DVD set and it completely blows this recording away. I do agree that there are a couple of tunes that are a little "muffled" even on the CD, but with a quality player and a little tweeking, it sounds amazing. Oh yeah and I saw them do Everybody needs a little Trouble, and Defying Gravity Live in Pasadena at the Rose which is an amazing little venue perfectly suited for bands like Mr. Big that have such technically sound players and still love to play around and have fun with their music.

I was so disappointed at first after listened to this song. But few days later, Its riffs kept coming up in my mind, da dadada da da ta, da dadada da da, etc.
Man, cannot get it out of my mind. Eventually, got a play it again and again! What da macaroni!!!!

I sort of get what some of you are saying about the mixing but I wouldn't say it sounds like a demo like someone said, it sounds more raw and straightforward sort of. I've heard the bass clearer in other albums true but I'm so fucking damn excited for this album it doesn't even matter. What I can say is the songs I've listened so far are killers and that's what matters since I've been looking forward to listening to new good musical material from hard rock bands in a while! And peace and love guys, no need for arguing. Let's enjoy the great work of amazing musicians! Also I can't wait to see them in Brazil in August!

Bad production? Who the heck are you to make that decision? These guys have been around way to long b4 you ever heard of them to have an issue with bad production. Kirk Loudon You honestly think that guitar sounds good when you compare that to say Paul Gilbert's latest solo albums, Marty Friedman's new songs coming out, or even old Mr. Big songs from way back when? The solo especially is oddly compressed and not made at the forefront for a solo.

I love the raw, earthy sound too. Kevin made a great job. They basically recorded live in studio, that Mr. Big vibe we all know and love is all there. Very glad to hear they still got it all.

For all the "quality comments" I think this is a low res or mono version. The label isn't going to release a full def quality because then you wouldn't buy it when it comes out! Listen to the song itself not the quality of this vid/version. Paul and Billy's playing is top notch! Well it always has been.

I really wanted to get this album, but the 3 songs released so far only pushed me away. (Mr) BIG Disappointment.

I was the same. I love the old stuff made by Mr. Big and I basically avoided Defying gravity for the past year. Heard few songs, didn't like it. I was wrong. I now bought the CD, asking myself what the heck, why did not I like it from the beginning? It might be a bit different and it certainly is not something you like straight away, needs a bit of a time to grow into it. But man. It's great.

I think this album has a lot of promise.

Killer song, I've downloaded the track and try to open it on Amp player on android smartphone with a little Settings on equalizer, It feels so good, Defying Gravity maybe not so good on production but sounds and notes in this album really unique, maybe they want to try a new sensations on production because I've heard they record this Album live and just completed it in 6 days

I agree.. I didn't expect this. a different sound maybe. love the band still.. but still not the sound I was expecting.

Still good songs, amazing riffs and musicianship, but sadly I agree, not the best idea to write and record in 6days. There is no uniformity in the mix and please dial the reverb back, it sounds like they brought the guitar solo mix in from the room mic instead of the amp mic.
