I had surgery on my skull to allieviate swelling on my brain a year ago and i am still struggling with the effects of brain damage and i dont know how much of it is permanent. I suffer brain fog, intellectual difficulties, mood problems, memory loss and chronic pain. I am still processing my past and how i am going to live in the future. But the mountain goats music has always been able to cut through my brain fog and allow me to feel my emotions, which is often difficult for me. But the Goats music somehow makes me feel normal, like i am a normal person with normal bruises, and its okay to feel them. I cant express just how much john darnielles work means to me.

TMG have a way of pulling me in & bringing up feelings that I haven't felt in years. Of making me feel a way that I thought I had healed from & moved passed. Of breaking my heart all over again. I love TMG so much but they are the one band I really can't listen to because it hurts my heart *every single time*.
