Aside from the terrible camera work, I absolutely adore this video. This song, the place, the emotion in his voice and his body. I cant get enough of the The Mountain Goats I really can't.

Aside from the meaning of the song, the way and place he performs it shows why he and his friends have done something so meaningful to all of us ... he wants the people around him to be part of what he's doing, be part of his music. He's not an artist with an untouchable talent on a stage, he's an artist with an untouchable talent in our lives. He and his friends seem to want our lives and their art to feed off of each other. He has more in common with visual artists like Mark Rothko and Jean-Michel Basquiat than he has in common with any pop musician. Performing on the street, for a few skateboarders he drives with even more intensity and mania than on stage, maybe because he's closer to them.

Kirk Faulkner It's in Seattle underneath the Fremont bridge! Pretty well known around here but I can't go by it without thinking about this performance.

Funny thing is that I worked with a super crazy guy who lived under that bridge for a bit in his car, so when people would talk about the troll under the bridge, I would say, "you mean 'The Cucumber'?" i just did a bit more studying into it, and another the words auto, and clave (derived from the word clavis) mean "self" and "locking" so he is reffering to his heart as self locking in the song
