Motors, The - Airport Lyrics
So many destination faces going to so many places
Where the weather is much better
And the food is so much cheaper.
Well I help her with her baggage for her baggage is so heavy
I hear the plane is ready by the gateway to take my love away.
It's getting me so.
Airport -
Airport, you've got a smiling face,
you took the one I love so far away
Fly her away - fly her away - airport.
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took my lady to another place
Fly her away - fly her away.
And the traces of the love we had in places
Are turning in my mind - how I wish I'd been much stronger
For the wheels are turning faster as I hear the winds are blowing
and I know that she is leaving
On the jet plane way down the runaway.
And I can't believe that she really wants to leave me - and it's
getting me so,
It's getting me so.
Airport -
Airport, you've got a smiling face,...
Airport -
Airport, you've got a smiling face,...

Motors, The Airport Comments
A great song that I remember owning until I dropped the record which landed on its edge and broke back in 1978. 42 years ago. How time flies!
Baby love cicciolina
Top song. Gets me all emotional. Brilliant topic, and brilliant music. If you see me listening to this and I'm not moving, call the undertaker.
איפה הימים
Musically speaking, one of the finest songs of the late 70s and surprisingly complex for a pop tune, with about 20 different chords.
It is a amazing song, really tight band.
love it love it
Definitely in my top 10 of all time
Anyone else got the UK band Squeeze which was having its first hits around 1978 coming to mind hearing this.
J avais 12 ans magique
1978??? i was 13...
I love this song! It reminds me a fantastic summer spent in London! I bought the cassette and I still have it!
Apparently coldplay stole the piano part from this song when writing clocks
Linda Niemkiewicz it wouldn't surprise me. There hasn't been much original music that's really good for years. These days it's either regurgitated & ruined or crappy r&b/rap crap.
First record i ever bought! What a great song!
I was 4 in 78.... my father reminds me this song : I LIKE that !!!!
I used to think this was ELO. Brilliant song ✈ 🌏
Great tune from a great band from the ;Punk/New Wave era! dx
Love this when i was young.
And now i love it ,this is a song you never forget,
You are so right. I keep coming back here. ☺
Absolutely -
This song brings me right back to my Copenhagen teenage room...!!!!!!
A perfect pop song: piano, drums, harmonies: its got everything
Including the "dip, dip, da-dip, dip" background vocals.
"A perfect pop song: piano, drums, harmonies: its got everything"
Except Debbie Harry, strutting the stage for all the gals in pop and rock!
Good song ✈
Magnificent. 😊
i love the piano
J'ai toujours adorée ce titre ! Thanks
C'est très bien. Je l'adore.
I was 10.....
The piano solo at end is so moving ....
Love this as much as when it was released, quality.
anyone else back in 78' ?
no, i'm in 2019 you div
He’s a treble div as he used a single opening quote instead of an apostrophe and he put the mark after the 78 but the missing digits are before the 78 so it should be ’78. The shame he must be feeling right now!
"anyone else back in 78' ?"
Yes, in 1778! Oh Wolfgang, how could you leave me?
What a great song!!!!😎😎😎
The refrain is the same : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBePTZFgN3k&t=2s
The keyboard solo would make a great ringtone!!!
Love this when I was a kid ❤
💚 this song x
flying away..flying away..airport..it is my every wish
Haunting.
The Arp synth had a hand in creating that mood. 🙂
i wase a child

Yes indeed great song i remember it on its first release and a favorite ever since great vocals and lyrics .
I know a lot about music and Every once in while I will discover a song I didn't know exisisted until years later. I discovered this song in the year 2000 and haven't stopped listening since.

Scary isn't it!
"It's not the years honey/it's the mileage" (Indy)
Brilliant
The best ever song to come out of Glasgows east end!
Where did Deacon Blue come from..
Was it Glasgow? I believe they were from Glasgow. They were my favorite band so I think the Best band that came out of Glasgow were Deacon blue👍
@B I The main singer and song writer,Ricky Ross,is from Dundee.,so not a Glasgow band!
@gmaccruyff55 ok...that's fair enough, I guess
Great song from a brilliant era for music!
This song had stood the test of time. It is as good now as in the beginning.
"Great song from a brilliant era for music!"
They stole it from my honey, Wolfgang A. Mozart. Now t that was a real era for music!
No cuts ,no re takes, real musicians !
You do know it's mimed, right?
This masterpiece is kind of Queenesq, but still within its own right.
Someone said on another Airport video that it sounded like ELO! 😎
Sparkish*
That piano though..... 😊
THE KEYBOARD SOLO WOULD MAKE A GREAT RINGTONE!!!
What A GREAT SONG !
writers today would not know how to write a song as good as this 😟
jennifer Loy fairhurst will do Jennifer cheers
@jennifer Loy fairhurst , thanks Jennifer
Most of them do it all on computers!
@Andrew Matthews and his friend Bruce Weigner, they are reminding me of this era!
@Rusty Nail and his friend Bruce Weigner, they are reminding me of this era!
a superb song 😎 thanks guys 😎
Brilliant song remember it well. And I flew on both a Boeing 777 and an Airbus which were both brilliant aircraft. The Boeing 777 was brilliant.
Very uncanny Arnold that the last time i flew to Singapore was on a Airbus 380 and coming back was a 777-300ER both nice planes .
Good song, but I couldn't help being distracted by the fact that a Fender Rhodes cannot be made to sound like the acoustic piano I'm hearing.
Nor is that Arp synth polyphonic! lol (monophonic or duophonic, yes, but that's it !)
De bons souvenirs reviennent...
Great song looking at the reply's .. it's very underated! But certainly not by me, I'm always listening and enjoying 🎤🎶👍🎤😘🎵
