Motorhead - The Watcher Lyrics

We are looking in on you now,
What do you think you can do now,
It's very small from way out here,
The last thing you will feel is fear,
Give you a chance to do the right thing,
Give you a chance to do the bright thing,
Now our sense is all disgusted,
Where you're from you can't be trusted,

Where I come from no-one smiles,
Every inch exists in miles,
Still it's cool relaxed and calm,
Sitting here on the Funny Farm,

World in prison screams in pain,
There are no leaders you can blame,
Human greed destroys your sphere,
And there's no room for you out here,
You're on your own now.

Anyone who denies Motorhead a supreme place in early metal history is in denial. I know Lemmy considered the band Rock and Roll, which is straight from the source; but the contribution to metal from this band is undeniable.

Is this a heavy version of the Hawkwind original from 1972? Great stuff!

    S.... f....

Yes it is. Also "Lost Johnny" from the original Motorhead album. Different versions are also on the album On Parole. It was recorded a year earlier, but failed to get released until a few years later.

  17. B.... S....

    This is the ultimate album!

And after you finish listening to it you look at the date if its release and go "Holy shit that was like in 1977!"

What he was trying to say is, That this world is going to Hell in a Basket.

    J.... K....

+John Karpierz No bullshit. What he said is still relevant today.

    J.... K....

+John Karpierz He wasn't trying, and the number also succeeded in its original 1972 Hawkwind form

  23. A.... C....

MINE EARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! but, I quite like it.

  24. f.... ....

The added verse doesn't help it make sense, and he isn't saying "world in prison", but I like the version. It was about higher beings destroying the Earth because of how bad a job humanity has done.

  25. N.... ....

    LOVE the older Motorhead.
