Eddie Clarke was to me te soul of the band. Them kinky, dirty, mean old mean riffs, that guitar sound...Them were the best years without a doubt and I am not driven by the ''weight'' of the records. Motorhead were perfeted during those years. A little bit backwards and they weren't quite there at all; A little bit forewards and they spoilt it too. That picture in time...that was the era. Somehow it pained me even more to hear about Clarke's loss than it did with Lemmy and Phil...He was such an honest player too

Though I thought Motorhead improved after Fast Eddie - it took me 20 years to realize that playing faster and heavier didn't hold a candle to the great riffs Eddie wrote. They lost them when he left..

Boogie Woogie style I was 10 years old when I heard Motorhead live..............nothing prepares you for that trio..................for that reason alone he was never replaced ok and Lemmy knows that but they made up in the end.
