Black Pigeon, it's just those pagan skins and what was done to them. Sheer beauty! The trans stuff had some sort of gentle warning too.

I remember being so intrigued and impatient and ultimately in love with this song when I first heard it. It's like he knew how great a song it was and he couldn't just give it away, lol.

a lot of raw energy that felt unstructured, but a pleasant break from some of his more formal pieces.

Amazing intro, excellent song. I really wish he would play this live- its a bit of a long shot. I would love to hear this and hairdresser on fire live.

Never have quite understood low opinion on 'Southpaw' - I think it's one of Morrissey's leanest and meanest records. This is a great song!

Time makes this a better and better record.People too quick to judge back in the day.

Loved it from the day it was released to the day I write this. Laughable how this album was dismissed when compared to the dismal hyperbole over some of his recent albums. Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I, and Southpaw Grammar = a three album run that's right up there.

So do I. I don't get the criticism.

I wouldn't say least because the opener and closer are some of his longest songs but I do understand what you're saying because there are few tracks on the album. I do think it's some of his meanest though because Dave, Best Friend, and Operation are so strong.

Why do critics see a song that goes past four or five minutes as progressive and even possibly problematic? Just how closed are these minds? Good music is good music whether it's 30 seconds or 30 minutes, lyrically intense or lyrically simplistic, instrumentally dense or sparse. Enjoy and let it go critics, just let it go.
