You're right that peoples have always moved around, and land has changed hands. But that's not to say that the result of pretty or favorable. Look at the American Indians, living on the reservations with all of the problems that beset them. How did mass immigration work it for them? They behave this way because they are a conquered people. That is how whites will behave in the future if they become a conquered, hopeless people. The opioid crisis in the american heartland is a signal post of things to come; it is only the beginning.

In the end the question you have to ask is "what kind of a society do I want to leave for my children and grandchildren?" As for me, I do not want them to have a similar fate as the American Indians.
This is not skinhead resentment; there is no hate for others. I do not live in perpetual fear of immigrants. But I do live here, as my fathers did before me, and as my children will after me. I am a link in the chain, and I owe it to them to struggle mightily to pass on to them a land they can thrive in. Where they are not a tiny beleaguered group, which they will be under current immigration schemes.

The National Front Disco. I think what this song is about is in the title. A disco is an escape for disgruntled youth. And Morrissey suggests the National Front is as well. He is suggesting, as he did in Asian Rut and Bengali in Platforms, is that the poor quality of peoples lives in England drives them towards the 'so-called patriotic' National Front. Of course there is an irony there in that National Front members are proud to be English yet they have only joined the group as they ultimately hate their lives and England too. However there is a worrying comment in this song. 'England for the English' on its own and in the context of the above could maybe be explained away but his subsequent behaviour wrapping himself in the Union Jack as well as stating that he laments the loss of England and Englishness to immigrant's culture (and him the son of two immigrants!) means it takes on a different view. In Asian Tut he sings from the point of view of the Asian 'I'm just passing through here to somewhere civilised'. This can be viewed as where he has come from - Asia 'isn't civilised. Also in Bengali in Platforms he sings 'life is hard enough when you belong here'. So Bengali doesn't belong here. Very inflammatory comments when you view the whole thing. And from such a talented and meticulous writer it's hard to believe that he didn't mean any of the above.

I like how this song ultimately became about Morisseys own life, because like he already came out as gay in his youth he would come out as a Patriot at the end of his Life, so he joined the "National Front Disco". When he sings about David and how his friends and his mother says "We lost our boy" he refers to the social stigma Patriots suffer and thus draws a parralel to the outcast status of homosexuals among some familys. When he sings "but she should know why you've gone, because again and again you've explained you've gone to the National the National front disco" , he ironically refers to patriots knowing they are doing the right thing even if nobody might understand them. "England for the English" was meant to be in brackets. The song talks about Morrissey's sorrow and disappointment seeing young people going into such political movements as was the NF back in the 70s.
