I can relate to this song, I'm always giving my all to people like my friends and family and relationships, often the favor isn't returned. And whenever someone does try to offer me some kindness I feel like I don't deserve it, that I'm not worthy, or good enough to be treated good. I need to learn how to receive instead of always just giving.

Alanis is very cerebral. When I listen to her I feel the same way- because she puts into words and music what so few artists can do. She relates to people on such a basic level. I love, love this song too.

This song is sooo boring compared to some of the other tracks on the album (Woman Down, Numb,Celebrity.) Such a shame this is a single.

Getting up early to make an airport run was so worth it because I heard this life changing song on the radio. It grabbed me from the very first line and slowly squeezed my insides as it played on. I love Taylor Swift's music - but its always more of a been there done that situation. Alanis Morissette is MY age, a wife and new mother. I have never had a song speak to me so clearly before. It was both terrifying and uplifting.
