I remember tripping and watching the gravel parking lot that had a pattern in the once random gravel. Every pebble was part of an arcing pattern. Waiting for my ex gf to pick me up. I was blasting my altars on my CD Walkman. I was heading to a job interview on acid. I got hired but found a better job after 2 days. It was a weird interview. Later went to her graduation ceremony with her mom and dad. That's how my day started after running in the woods all night.

I like to take a bunch of cough medicine and throw this on. I'm spiritual and still listen to satanic music. If you don't fall for their dark side tricks in this song it is thrilling. Ricardo Gonçalves Santos A lot of Death/Doom bands for sure took a lot of inspiration from Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. There is a Celtic Frost tribute album from 1992 called In memory of Celtic Frost, there are some black metal bands on there like Enslaved, Emperor and Mayhem but also a lot of Death/Doom bands. Morgion, Ophet, Cianide and 13 for instance.

Or the epic changes in Kreator songs or even Dark Angel. But with all that said...i do think Morbid Angel kicks some serious ass.

I saw Morbid Angel before I bought this album. It was an Earache concert and was great. The music created a frenzy. but, all this with the Christ being called out, I sold that and deicide albums. I know its all marketing but 'Alters' is a great musical album.

Though Morbid Angel is a Death Metal band but their debut album sounds more closer to Blackened Death Metal like Angelcorpse and Arkhon Infaustus,weird considering the fact that the genre of Blackened Death Metal didn't even existed at that time.
