No it doesn't. Only losers have to spend money to change things that they themselves are paying for. You as the consumer call the shots not the other way around. Covering is different from sampling. 95% of the people who listen to these guys don't know who the hell Slayer is. So they'll hear this and think, "wow these guys are talented musicians". Covered songs normally give credit directly to the original artist and you know you're just hearing some bands take on a famous song. Sampling "steals" the music and people think that the artist sampling is the creative force behind the song. I heard a Janet Jackson song the other day in Target that sampled America's "Ventura Highway". My fiance never heard of Ventura Highway or America. But she thought that this "Great Song" she heard was a Janet Jackson original. That's messed up to me.
