These songs take me back to when my dad's band played these at rehearsal. My dad's best friend, Dave sounded exactly like Gary while my dad nailed the guitar like Gary. These songs make me think about my dad who I lost 6 years ago.

On the ‘Still Got The Blues' album, I did ‘Pretty Woman' with Albert King. When he was leaving the studio, he turned to me and said, 'You know what? Play every other lick.' It was the best thing anyone had ever said to me, like, don't play every lick, play every other lick. It's the simplest thing in the world, and when you think about it, it's absolutely right. I think a lot of guitar players, in every genre, are afraid to leave space...
We as guitar players, and you know this as well as anyone, guitar players are scared to leave a hole, afraid they'll fall down it or something! [Laughing] They think of leaving a space but don't leave one long enough. When you get into the habit of leaving a big space, what happens is that you'll eventually become comfortable, and it becomes second nature for you to do that. You'll become a much better player for it." [Gary Moore]

Gary's greatest influence in his formative years was Peter Green. They met in Dublin when Gary moved there aged 16. Peter lent Gary his Les Pau after leaving Fleetwood Mac. Gary later bought the guitar at Peter's request as he wanted it to "have a good home". Gary recorded the tribute album "Blues For Greeny" using that guitar to record it. If you don't own that album you are not a Gary Moore fan. Or  Peter Green fan.

Les Paul could have literally made that guitar just for him to play these songs on. Listen to the whole of Still Got The Blues Album and you will agree. If you don't agree, then Fuck Off.

Early 2010, Brighton, Friday night , with some friends. Been on the pier, walked the Lanes. Downstairs bar, heard some amazing licks. Asked the doorman who was playing? He said Gary Moore. THE Gary Moore. Let me straight in (fuck the queue). Pushed to the front. There he was. He played Cold Day In Hell, Oh Pretty Woman, Still Got The Blues. Right in front on me, two feet away. Whole gig was just me and him  as far as I can see. At the end he did that thing where they shake hands with the fans. When he shook my hand it felt like it  was for about 3 minutes. Then he exited stage right. One of the best nights of my life. 10 months later I heard he had died. Not many men can truly be called a Legend. To this man I say it with the utmost respect. We will never see his like again.

This is mother....... piece of phenomenal guitar play. How he and Rory Gallagher weren't appreciated is beyond my imagination! Two different styles with Gary more bluesy playing. It was Gary who put blues back on the scene in 1990, but now there's no one to wake it up again. I was lucky to see both in concert live in Copenhagen. Two geniuses.

@Alaan Placencia Totalmente de acuerdo, la verdad es que en los últimos 15 años que llevo escuchando bastante blues me doy cuenta que Clapton es un niño de teta a lado de estos grandes, los verdaderos grandes del blues, Gary Moore, Albert King, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Hendrix, Jhonny Winter solo para nombrar a algunos, Clapton simplemente vendió más discos no significa que sea el mejor

@Ricardo Falconi lastimosamente Clapton y Santana se volvieron muñecas de circo o vedettes para poder vender mejor. Sus mejores discos solo son historia o mejor dicho sus primeros discos.
