Moody Blues, The - Sorry Lyrics
Just look at me know
Because I'm tired of yelling
Look at me now
It's only me I'm selling
I'm not willing to trade
You turn me around
You put me down
Look at me now
I'm hanging out my heart to dry
For the last time
I'll tell you the reason why
It's for the last time
Laid back uptown turnaround people - lie
Sorry a word they only use too late
Sorry is a word that only ever means forgive my yesterdays
Laid back uptown turnaround people - lie
Laid back uptown turnaround people - wear disguises
And sorry that's a word they can only use too late
Sorry is a word that only ever means forgive my yesterdays
(Sorry)
Here I am loving you
You lay you lay so quietly
I can feel your breath upon my skin
Afterglow came suddenly
With you it always did
I'm hanging out my heart to dry
For the last time
I'll tell you the reason why
It's for the last time
Laid back uptown turnaround people - lie
Laid back uptown turnaround people - wear disguises
They say sorry that's a word
They only use too late
Sorry is a word that only ever means
Forgive my yesterdays
(Uptown people lie)
Laid back uptown turnaround people - wear disguises
They say sorry
That's a word they only use too late
Sorry is a word that only ever means forgive

Moody Blues, The Sorry Comments
One of the best Moody Blues songs ever. The melody and harmonies are incredible. This would have been a great concert number. I would have loved to see Ray doing the lead vocals and harmonica solo with John and Justin on backing vocals.
I have this strange habit of waking up with a song running around in my head.
Today, it was this one.
And the loss of Ray Thomas hit me hard.
I listen to the Moodies EVERY SINGLE DAY, but today....it's this song and I miss Ray.
I’m currently a senior in high school and I have a chemistry test tomorrow in the morning, I just spent the past 5 hours in bed looking for this song, and I’m not sure if I should be glad that I finally found, or disappointed because it’s now 5 in the morning
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a mad keen 75yo Aussie fan.
GOD--They are incredible.
"THANKS SOO VERRY MUCH FOR THE RAY THOMAS"- I FEEL LIKE THIS SONG!!!.😢😭 SORRY THAT RAY ISN'T HERE TO 'SEE' IT, BUT SOO GLAD "THE MOODIES " MADE IT!!!.
Never heard this one- love it!!!!
Thanks. Haven't heard this one in a long, long time
RIP Ray
Although the poem intro "I Am" is good, IMO this song sounds better alone
Love this song thank you Ray Thomas for writing another good one
Did Ray Thomas write this one?
Fairly sure that Ray Thomas did indeed write this song.
Excelent Ray Thomas song! A lot better musically than any of his songs on his 2 solo albuns! And I think this is not only good luck or coincidence, but the fact that, with a little help from Hayward to harmonize Ray melodies, they can make a silver idea shine like gold.
God bless you for getting the Moody here... My dads record is scratched :-( I love them...
