Moody Blues, The - Night Winters Years Lyrics

Pain, sorrow, tears
Long, lonely years
With love
Having passed me by
I could live a lie for you
But truth is the road I choose
Knowing all I need to do
Is give to you

Down, down down
Where your dreams are found

They're sleeping inside of us all
They're sleeping inside of us all

Nights, winters, years
Pain, sorrow, tears of mine
Cannot hold me now
I'm a fool to fall for you
But here
In the morning light
Tell me how can love be wrong
And feel so right

3:00 am more pain, can't sleep and there's a soft and beautiful sound that comes out of the night and I feel that peace is at hand, at least for a while, from the Lad's from London. There music and voices brings hope for me to face the world for another moment in time.

  5. S.... D....

    Rush made this song huge.

  6. E.... F....

Bought it on 8 track 75.

  7. E.... F....

    10cc assisted in production.

  8. C.... P....

This album was a big letdown from the previous MB's stuff. I would have preferred Hayward and Pinder which almost happened but Lodge weaseled his way in and the results are subpar. I realize music is subjective but there are no masterpiece Hayward/Lodge cuts like Candle of Life on this one, not even close.

  9. P.... D....

Southport Floral Hall 1975 - Blue Jays. Amazing, Justin and John at their best.

  10. J.... W....

If you don't like this you must be heartless

  18. y.... ....

I still have the original v

I still have the original record 40 years later, I love them.

  19. B.... V....

The first time I heard this song, I thought it started out similarly to the song "Love On The Rocks" by Neil Diamond. Otherwise, I must have listened to my mother's cassette version of this song dozens of times.

  20. C.... S....

Stunning artistry from Justin Hayward. Heartbreaking stuff. So glad my sister bought the LP all those years ago.

  21. R.... V....

Seriously beautiful! Music with a capital "M"! ;-)

    R.... V....

A real GEM of an album, such artistry from ALL those involved. A deep and heartfelt BOW from an old fan.

  22. M.... B....

How can the 12 people hate this song , it hits me everytime i play it :(

    M.... B....

Maybe they just can't abide the accompanying images

    M.... B....

Yes your prob right , or they are heavy rock fans lol

    M.... B....

Simple, it's Kanye West and his 11 sock puppet accounts.

  23. R.... S....

blue Jays justin and John need say no more Legends

  24. N.... W....

The Moody Blues broke up!  What a disaster for me, after just having discovered them for a few years after 1973 and having most of their albums.  Then came.... THIS!  The Bluejays- always loved this album, because it was the fusion of rock and symphony that set them apart in my mind.  And thank god they all got back together later! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7p-92vv7HU

  25. R.... D....

    another masterpiece. TY

  26. D.... D....

    Beautiful video presentation.

  27. K.... S....

Nothing gets me in the mood for some Rush quite like this

  28. N.... J....

Rush used this song as the intro to their "Hemispheres" North American tour in 1978.

    N.... J....

    Exactly why I'm here :D

    N.... J....

    Who is rush

    N.... J....

Norma Tible Rush is the most commercially successful band in Canada to date

  29. R.... M....

June 1975;  straight out of high school and bought it on vinyl, and many years later on CD.  An LP full of great songs, recorded at their just-completed Threshold studios at Decca.  "Days of Future Passed" arranger Peter Knight was brought in to do orchestrations on several of the songs.  Another Justin Hayward masterpiece.  Just lean back and close your eyes....

  30. K.... M....

    A plethora of memories . . .

  31. I.... G....

I love this song. Justin's voice blends beautifully with the music.

  32. w.... s....

Of all the songs sung by Justin Hayward, this one  exemplifies the power and range of his vocal abilities.  I do not need say more.

  33. j.... a....

  39. M.... S....

Believing Themselves 2 of the 12 apostles of Jesus, Justin Hayward & John Lodge of Moody Blues wrote the 1975 LP 'Blue Jays' searching for Jesus on earth! http://wp.me/p4mCzX-w

    M.... S....

eat my poopy you waste of electrons.
    we're talking about music here.

  40. m.... b....

    BRILLIANT

  41. T.... ....

Rush brought me here. They used this wonderful piece as their entrance music on their Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres Tours.

  42. s.... ....

we will soon be paying tribute to these true musical pioneers with a benefit concert
in the planning stages. 'most under-rated band' indeed (not to mention phenomenal songwriters whose compositions will stand the test of time)

  43. A.... L....

    im back.........bravo!!!

  44. H.... F....

Incredible track by master musician storytellers . . .
I'm a Moodies fan from the early years and this is quite possible the best thing that Justin and John have done together . . . and that is saying something.
Love the hearts, minds and voices of these beautiful men . . .

  45. t.... ....

the music of Justin Hayward and John Lodge will be loved for generations... no doubt for thousands of years to come...

  46. C.... T....

"All I need to do ...is give to You..."

"How can love be wrong, and fell so right"

Splendid song , the makings of a classic.

  47. B.... W....

  53. A.... L....

    Thanx Ax,just beautiful

  54. M.... E....

From Blue jays, written by Justin Hayward.

  55. K.... ....

Could be one of the most underrated songs too. Absolutely superb.

  56. L.... R....

@RobEye79 I want that one at 1:24. That is just priceless.

  57. A.... S....

Many artists reach their peaks and run out of ideas/tunes, not the case for Justin Hayward and John Lodge- they keep coming out with original tunes and outstanding love songs- this particular one is one of their best! Hard to believe this was written in the 70's, still sounds brilliant

  58. P.... S....

    @redbaron863 beautiful picture

  59. l.... ....

This sounds like it would be a great song for a Broadway show.

  60. D.... K....

tender and triumphant....... beautiful velvet voice on this guy .... I love their use of orchestral arrangements for rock songs..... what a sweet album this was

  61. a.... ....

    @Hitch0403

Sorry to hear you lost your Dad...Ive been there too in 1979 I miss him dearly.
I hope your pain will ease ....35 years down the long road mines still there but has eased...take care.

  62. l.... ....

This song sounds like it should be in a Broadway musical.

  63. l.... ....

Beautiful song. Beautiful video. Great job, Redbaron.

  64. M.... ....

The Beatles were great.. the Moodys continued to be great, long after we had only the shadow remains of the lads from liverpool... as far as talent, ALL talented... let's not have a school yard fight over that...

  65. j.... ....

behind? sorry, I don`t think so. I think that in music the justin talent is more than the beatles. nights in white saten or house of four doors. no no,I think the moody blues is high and high from the beatles,

  66. k.... ....

    Simply amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  67. A.... C....

The word is unrequited, just putting that out there

  68. A.... C....

Where did you read that from? I'm a big fan of Rush, but I never knew that....

  69. M.... ....

"..Tell me how can love be wrong, and feel so right..?"

ahh.. sigh.. a girlfriend long ago told me, in all seriousness, that love is not logical. I guess that's when you know you're in-love, when nothing makes sense anymore. When too easy comes the answer in stopping the bottomless pain, and you question your own sanity... Unrequieted... It seems such a technical word when used to explain that lonesome love and yet so poetic... Let the pain end...

  70. M.... L....

    Magnificent song with wonderful orchestration!

  71. a.... ....

    Mr. Baron Sir:
    Thank you. A supurb construct!
