Moody Blues, The - It's Up To You Lyrics

When the breeze between us calls, love comes and lingers into our lives,
And the leaves begin to fall, you point your finger at me.

I love you-
I love you-

In the sadness of your smile love is an island way out to sea,
But it seems so long ago we have been ready trying to be free.

And it's up to you,
Why won't you say?
Make our lives turn out this way.
If they knew, that we have got nothing to lose,
No reason to hide from what's true.
In the world of me and you
All is forgotten when we're inside
And the words that pass us by,
I am not listening, all of it's lies.

And it's up to you,
Why won't you say?
Make our lives turn out this way.
If they knew, that we have got nothing to lose,
No reason to hide from what's true,
That we have got nothing to lose.

Thanks for this, Ted. And I appreciate your recognition of John Lodge's musicianship. He's vastly overlooked, and imo, the best bassist in the biz!

When my mom and dad got divorced i was very young. I was about 3 yrs old. I layed in bed with my mom every night listening 2 the moody blues. She took me to my first concert at 12 which was the moodies. Im almost 34 and her 60. I take my mom to every Moody show possible. I owe it 2 her

What it truly is up to all of us, is to go deeper in your hearts to sincerely pray and ask our True Heavenly Father for the True way to be forgiven and obedient, first to how we are to love God with all your heart and all your mind and all soul .and if you then check out my public comment on the next picture down from this one , with the same title "It's up to you" I am sure you it will give you more on how our Most Loving Father was to been spoken about and written to all, but because man was born and then raised to hear all the deceiving lies, having to earn your living and then told by every religion including Christians that wrote and sold the rewritten bibles with that valueless money and then their bible scholars who wrote and preached that the Holy Creator said you could eat the perfect living beautiful families He put here on His Peaceful Holy Planet when they were truly created to live free, unharmed and under His Wing and in peace and harmony with all of us. so go to your hearts and pray everyday to be obedient and humble, no more support the daily slaughtering of our Loving, Merciful and Forgiving Fathers precious families on earth as it is in Heaven. Praise Our Heavenly Father Amen

    R.... B....

in humbleness and humility I bow to you my friend beautiful words from a beautiful heart LOVE+LIGHT to you....

No matter how crapy lousy the day was, what better way to end it on such a positive groovy song as this, by the great, fabulous Moody Blues!! You really made my day making this available. If only the whole world could just groove on the love more. I know, I sound more n more like an old hippie, but it's TRUE. It's all about loving each other more.

    1.... ....

You bet...I AM an old hippie(Flower child actually)and I totally agree! We ARE all the same...all part of the ONE who created us LOVE is the ONLY way out of here!

this album came at the right time. w the Beatles ending, this album was very special. great soothing transition. so many great songs and their voices are wonderful

  20. H.... Z....

I just love the soft, subtle acoustic guitar intro.

  21. P.... C....

  22. F.... ....

    My favorite Moody's song . . . . . .

  23. J.... W....

God Dam it mom. You put a seed in my head love music!

  24. i.... ....

I wish Justin Hayward had written at least 80% of the Moody Blues songs. He's definitely one of the most talented pop-rock songsters of the late 60's and the 70's.

  25. G.... V....

Yes, great bass line. And great lyrics, thanks for posting them. A long lost gem.

  26. B.... N....

The supposed Rock N Roll Hall of Fame has turned into nothing but a joke.

  27. D.... N....

This jam is my shit yo.

  28. s.... ....

    My fave Moodie's track.

  29. J.... J....

  35. A.... S....

    October 14th: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Justin!

  36. d.... d....

There are 4H's that made a big impression on me.
J Hendricks, S How, J Harrison, J Hayward. (Not in any order)
Justin's electric guitar voice was perfect.

  37. s.... ....

John Lodge is a helluva bass player!

    s.... ....

    stratovani Oh yes definitely!!🎸🎸🎸🎸

    s.... ....

Hellll YES he's a great bassist. One of the best ever. Lodge's bass play along with Pinder's mellotron is the Moodies' signature sound through their first seven albums.

  38. I.... D....

    hermosa canción !

  39. S.... M....

For those bemoaning the Moodies not being in the R&R Hall of Fame. This so called "Hall of Fame" is of such utter historical insignificance that no sane future generations will disregard the Moody Blues or any other musical artist based upon their exclusion in that commercial corporate entity than they would a random half-baked music critic.

  40. m.... j....

One of Haywards best! If I could only write like that

  41. T.... S....

...But it seems so long ago we have been ready trying to be free."

    s.... s....

Im FREE...FINALLY...and the MOODIES played a huge part in that Thank you !

    s.... s....

    are we free yet?

  45. m.... ....

The Moody Blues are NOT in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but the Beastie Boys, and Run DMC are... Seriously? The R&R HOF is a joke without the Moody Blues, Kansas, Doobie Bros., Yes, Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson), King Crimson, Chicago, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, Mountain (Leslie West), Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Alvin Lee / Ten Years After.

    m.... ....

mauidreamz although I live a few hours from the R&R Hall I refuse to visit it until Moodies & Tull & Yes are in it.

    m.... ....

    Agree 100%

    m.... ....

  47. P.... G....

    Pop gets no more perfect.

  48. J.... W....

I will add my voice to the chorus of the many who love this song.
Very upbeat, comforting, and fun song.

  49. J.... G....

One of my very favorite Moody Blues songs. Great song!

    J.... G....

As it is mine. Written by professional musicians who knew how to write and could play it. And yea, what a bass line working through the lead.

    J.... G....

You are right James, but it's like saying it is one of my favorite Beatle song!!!!

  52. J.... F....

    Perfection

  53. j.... ....

Justin has always had a great ear for multi-tracking/over dubbing his guitar work. You and Me, is another perfect example of his technique. I have always admired him for everything but, as a guitarist, I find that particular aspect of his abilities, quite beautiful, and it never gets tiresome.

    j.... ....

My favorite tune, and I've only heard them play it live one time in 7 different tours.

  54. C.... M....

Great song. I love the bass line in it!

  55. J.... W....

Great lost classic. One of their top five creations, easily.

  56. s.... ....

Such a beautiful song! Melody, harmony, lyrics. We have more power than we realize! No reason to hide from what's true!

  57. M.... R....

Great tune. One of the few Moodys tunes I come back to anymore. Superb bass line and a big-time hook with the guitar introducing the melody.

    M.... R....

    @Mike Roby You said it!!

    M.... R....

@Paula Jacobson Thanks for your comment, Paula. I haven't listened to this for a stretch. of time..
