Moody Blues, The - In The Beginning Lyrics
[First Man:] I think, I think I am, therefore I am, I think.
[Establishment:] Of course you are my bright little star,
I've miles
And miles
Pretty files of your forefather's fruit
and now to suit our
great computer,
You're magnetic ink.
[First Man:] I'm more than that, I know I am, at least, I think I must be.
[Inner Man:] There you go man, keep as cool as you can.
Face piles
And piles
With smiles.
It riles them to believe
that you perceive
the web they weave
And keep on thinking free.

Moody Blues - the pure clear example what LSD will do for your imagination
The moody blues were a big part of coming of age for me. The 70's were a blur, but not the music. You just don't hear music like this anymore. Not unless you listen to you tube, or have a pile of old albums handy.
The opened their KICK ASS SHOW in Concord with Lovely to See You- '91 and go go dancers to boot
I love what Jay Sands had to say..."the Moody Blues have been my religion....". Well, I feel that way, too. I've been listening for more than 50 years and they still evoke such beauty and spirituality in their songs/albums with their gorgeous lyrics, beautiful vocals and superb musicianship. They make my soul soar. I will love them forever.
brought me to SPIRITUALITY - The Great Pyramid gave me a College Education
Mine to (religion) 67 yrs old and will love them till the end of my time.

1972 is when I really got into listening to Moody Blues....blew my mind and was hooked
Cod philosophising. Dear Diary is a great song, though.

Love it of course!...But aside from the misinterpreted line mentioned several times below...Historicus.Joe: Do you know what apostrophes are for? Or not for? Can you fix these things? Please do. This will be a better site.

Remember vividly Tripping beautifully hard to this album on Window Pane in 74 crammed into a dorm with my Acid mates!
If LSD can produce music like this,it should be free on the National Health
@Dave Johnson IT WILL BE AGAIN......VERY SOON....
Rush is to over as the Moody Blues are to under......rated. Top 10 British invaders easy.
Bravo to Ray and his excellent flute ...Ray ~ RIP
Moody Blues where considered gurus back in their day, and funny thing is they didn't like that. That's why they came out with I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band. Everybody I knew that were into tripping would always have Moody Blues music.
Yes, I can back that up ... I remember that. They were also reknown for being high on LSD, Legend of the Mind good ol' Timothy Leary, whom anyone born after the mid to late 60's is clueless about
All your co-workers made it happened to
It's not " Who ordered that" It's " I'm more than that" .Du
I'm more than that, I know I am, at least, I think I must be.
[Inner Man:] There you go, man, keep as cool as you can.
Face piles
Thank you for putting these two ( that I thought were one ) back together again. I needed it in a way you can't imagine.
This music is God sent 2 all who r searching I remember the first song I heard was nights in white satin
I love Claudina
One of your lyrics is wrong from "In the Beginning". The phrase is not "Who ordered that?" The correct words are "I'm more than that." Meaning... "I'm more than just magnetic ink." The "magnetic ink" sentence spoken by the evil "big brother" computer voice directly precedes the sentence where he says "I'm more than that."
Kinda glaring to a Moody Blues fan.
Well spotted! To a moody blues lover, that's a bit of a cockup.
I'm more than magnetic ink. I'm a series of tiny transistors etched onto a wafer of silicon.
Deep thoughts by Jack Handy.
Really dude..great video and this is all you can say
Grew up with this progressive music, so glad they didn't do what the corporate bean counters wanted them to do. Thank you Moody
Great video and love this album..First heard it on my 8 track...
and John Pinder went his way . . . . this left the CORE Moody Blues ! that we have today !!! bad ass mofo's ! ! !
Mike Pinder ,wasn't it?
I love 2001 and the MB Help me to find GOD .. And yes I have been on Earth for some time...
The Moody's music opens doors( gate ways) 2 higher knowledge
It's.. " I'm more than that.. "
😂.. not "who ordered that "
Now go back and set it right!
That's a disgrace! You wrecked the initial thought trajectory you FOOL!
Great words from a great band
It's not, Who ordered that, its I'm more than that.
One of the Happest Songs....
Lovely too See You Again ✌😎
Best group by far...................................................!
Never hear them on the radio, WTF.
There are 2 kind of people
Those who listen The Moody
Those who dont do that
( they are not regarded as people)
So There is only one sort of people :) Us !
What a fucking stupid self centred comment. So you listen to The Moody Blues, therefore everyone else has to. Is that right? Take your head out of your arse now and again.
What a great transition from the space poem "In the Beginning" followed by the more uptempo "Lovely To See You Again" and the more laid back "Dear Diary". I like how the Moody Blues had different singers with different styles but well blended harmonies.
I was listening to these fellows at age 13..
Love their music. ..
Then I found Pink Floyd. 😊
But I cut my teeth on The Moody Blues. They bring back wonderful memories...
Was in the US Marine Corps 71-74.... listened to Moody Blues everyday on my battery operated portable cassette player... the large one with the "piano" type control buttons....Walkman hadn't been invented yet......" Cold hearted orb that rules the night"
Listening to this, I can't help but think that the world has lost a great flute player in Ray Thomas. Rest in Peace, Ray. You brought a lot of joy to a lot of listeners.
The rock - roll hall of frame is shit!!!
Damn. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for this.
Beautiful,need I say more?A.W.St.Pete. Fl.
Well, WELL WELL DONE!!!!!!!!
69 And still enjoy listening to the Moody Blues. Now i do it legally in Canada.
Outstanding! Just outstanding!
Y E S !!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! <3
Loved it from the first time I heard it.. Gotta love Descartes.
Best Moody Blues song!
It sure be wonderfull in seeing you again
Truly awesome.
I was in high school from 68-72 and had an older brother who turned me on to all the great lp's from this amazing group. One of the all time great bands for sure!!!
Was in hs also from 68-72. Lived in a rural area where the FM signal just didn't quite reach. Had only heard " Nights in White Satin" in '71 before I went to college in fall '72. Got exposed to the "Core 7" there.
The rest is history.
Me too.
terrible handwriting. no one can forge your signiture
if i wrote a diary no one but me would be able to read it.
Jason Barbush Are you a pharmacist? I can’t even read my own writing. So thankful for computers and typewriters.
1:33 "I've miles and miles OF FILES, pretty files..." 1:41 "YOU'RE magnetic ink."
So far ahead of their time. So glad I am a product of the 60's. Mind expansion and music that will still take you to another sphere.

I’m a devout fan. Well over a hundred shows . My older daughter has 2 tambourines and 2 Graeme Edge drumsticks. My other daughter actually was beckoned on stage by Justin at the curtain call so she could give him flowers from the garden. My wife was talking to john’s cousin at the merchandise booth. He recognized her at a show a few years later in providence. He took her to the lighting board and she did the lighting ( with direction) to ride my see-saw. My older daughter was not pleased with that ! Lol. Oh, and it’s “I’m more than that”. Plain and clear. Go Moodies!
The best song of all time!
To really know and understand the Moody Blues !!
Fly into their music and into your inner imagination...
Be in your mine, with their music..
All through your eyes of life !!
The most influential music in my life........love these songs from the moodies!
Yet another lyric video where the creator didn't even bother looking up the real lyrics. Lyrics are freely available, and you don't even bother looking them up before creating a lyric video?

fandabidozee!
“In imagination, she sailed over storied seas that wash the distant shining shores of "faëry lands forlorn," where lost Atlantis and Elysium lie, with the evening star for pilot, to the land of Heart's Desire. And she was richer in those dreams than in realities; for things seen pass away, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of the Island
