Montrose - Rock The Nation Lyrics
All right!
Come on, now!
Ooh, yeah!
Got it in me, I've got it in me
Gonna do it, ain't nothin' to it
Just shake my hips, throw my head back and shout...
Been a long education
But my homework is done
I'm gonna rock the nation
Just-a wanna have fun, yeah!
Gonna shake it and I ain't gonna break it
I'm gonna show you what it's all about
Ain't gonna quit 'till it all comes out
Been a long education
But my homework is done
I'm about to rock the nation
Just a-wanna have fun
Fun
Oh, yeah!
Have some fun!
All across the nation
Gonna run all across the nation
Come on!
Rock the nation
Got it in me, oww
Don't wanna quit until it all comes out
Gonna shake it, ain't gonna break it
I'm gonna show you what it's all about
Been a long education
But my homework is done
I'm about to rock the nation
Rock the nation
Rock the nation
Rock the
Rock the
Rock the
Rock the
Nation
Yeah!

Saw Ted Nugent and Montrose in Chattanooga in 1977 both bands rocked. What a great era for partying and music
Back in the day.... I had a buddy with a turntable in his car... WTF! With Montrose always on the turntable....LMFAO
I saw Ronnie and his band less than a year before he died. It was great. He had his band play everything like the record, even the drummer (which is rare).
Why is a fuzzed out guitar so satisfying?
My favorite montrose song
Saw fog hat, montrose and j giels all in on concert back in 1974, montrose rocks
one of America's great original rock bands!-way better than Foghat and I really like Foghat-!!!
When the SHTF you kids are always welcome here! ha!
Got it in me
Covered this song in tons of clubs and it never got old. Made the ladies dance and shake the good stuff !!
this was the biggest sound in rock ... rock n roll attitude.
Great playing and writing. A 12!
Sammy at his Best.
RIP Ronnie Montrose
You are missed
One of the best rock albums of all time in my opinion. No weak songs on this one.
fuckin' WORD...!!!
louder??? Please YES!!!
Is it just me or does anyone else think Boston were influenced by them? I bought the album when it came out (Montrose that is) and couldn't help hearing Ronnie's guitar in Boston's songs.
No? Just me then ;-)
I had always thought of Van Halen, but yeah, in this song I can hear a Boston type of sound. Thanks for that.
We did this in our garage band, memories.
If I were a presidential candidate this would be my walk- on song YEAH!
Metal before Metal.
RIP Ronnie. Damn still gets me going. Having fun, all across the nation!
This, little millenials is how to play rock and roll.
I'm 62 years old and back in mid 70's , I was lucky enough to get to see Montrose, Spooky Tooth and Frampton while he was learning his licks in Humble Pie! I'll put that concert up against anything else that has ever played Rock&Roll!
Montrose , another s.a.t favorite!
V.O.A \m/\m/
Van Halen ripped these guys off

I knew this band was before their time because the music they were pumping out didnt sound anything like any of the other music then , and it kicked fuckin ass all over most of it...
There's nothing new under the sun.
Sammy Hagar as a baby boy. Man could he rock!!
I saw them in 1975 with Foghat perform in Chicago.
Foghat and Montrose together in one rock show back-to-back? That was the pinnacle of rock and roll right there!
Aragon Ballroom...me too.
Crank the fucking Kraco on this shit
I GOT A QUESTION?
Nobody answered after a year?
R I P Ronnie !
I was just noodling on my strat through my Marshall plexi, and stumbled across that same tone. "De' ja'vo'...I immediately went into that chord progression. Played that at a high school dance a few months after the album came out. I,ve talked with Ronnie Montrose about a bootleg album I bought around the same time. Kick Ass !! Montrose./UFO /..Scorpions etc..What ever happened to great music?.
Foghat is the pinnacle, but for an American band, Montrose can't really be beat. Aerosmith and Montrose both rocked, Aerosmith is of course still around, RIP Ronnie Montrose. RIP Lonesome Dave Peverett and Rod Price
Don't forget Gamma. Another Ronnie album. O and Gamma II

Gonna shake it and I ain't gonna break it
More cowbell.
Only a real guitar player knows how good Ronnie was. R I P
Yes, Ronnie was an exceptional player. Nothing was added that didn't need to be there. That is mark of a great player. It was what he didn't play that made one took notice. Great riffs, nothing excessive...a joy to listen to. R.I.P.
This was one of the most ignored , greatest bands ever... at least for this album.
Yes Ronnie was great
@Jim E You got that right! THE most timeless guitar-oriented record ever recorded.
This song is the definition of Rock n Roll !!!
And a precursor of Heavy metal...
Hard to believe rock this kick ass was 44 years ago.. Doesn't get any better.. Thank you Ronnie

These guys were KICKASS.
67 GTO, this and Highway Star by DP. Cruise the main drag, windows down, blast it out the Jensen speakers. Freedom and rebellion!!!!!
71 Super Bee, 440...4 speed with 430 gears going sideways drag racing to this song/8 track.
Don't know about the doobage but yea you were the shit when you went from the Jensen coaxials to the triaxials
Had a 1970 Monte Carlo with a Pioneer under dash supertuner, booster, Jensen 6x9s and 5's cold (and warm) Michelob and other illegal things, playing this between Black Sabbath, L Zepplin ,Floyd Robin Trower with my buddies going to another party. and sometimes on our way to school! yeah not always wise but i wouldnt trade it
