my dad is prison for killing my mom when I was a baby because they were both drunk. I spent most of my life in foster care with my brothers because of it. I promised myself I would never make their mistakes, that I would be the person who goes out of their way to help others and to avoid drinking or doing drugs.

After my cousin went out on his terms I was in a dark place. I hated God. I HATED HIM. I tried to kill myself twice in my life. Once before he left and once after. Then I turned back to God and realized it was His love that absorbed the poison that should have killed me. I miss my cousin every day. I dont know who needed to read this story but know there is hope even in the darkest most messed up nights. Please stay strong

And if your lord cannot see into the hearts of good men and women, and only accepts those who believe in him, he really is not worthy of the good men and women who will be left behind. Believing in something should never be the qualifier for being worthy of something. I would rather be surrounded by my fellow non-believers than deal with that egotistical, narcissistic, abusive asshole that you call a lord, who can't give a damn about the people he created.

But, really, all of this is moot. It is cute fantasy. Because there is no lord. Just imagination.

What the fuck does god need with money? What is he going to buy with it? Nothing.

You know who will buy stuff with money? The people you give it to. They will buy more land, cars, jets, invest in the stock market. Some even buy drugs and male prostitutes. And they give a pittance of your money to charity so they can claim that all of it goes to charity. It really is a shame. So many people are conned out of their money by people who the fictional Jesus would have kicked over their tables and thrown them out of the temples.

You see, I understand how you have been manipulated, since childhood, to believe in an imaginary friend. Initially it was 2 imaginary friends. But then you learned that Santa wasn't real, and you were all "yeah, it makes sense now that it was just my parents telling me bullshit".

But god, oh god, that one you cannot let go. Why? Because you are a coward. Yep. You are afraid of an eternity without you. An infinity of not existing. Guess what . . . so am I. Death is scary as fuck. But telling myself a cool story and doubling down by paying money to some charlatan isn't going to make my hope for life after death into an actual life after death.

So I accept what is real. We will all die. And our only hopes at a sense of immortality is either through being remembered or though our genes. Neither of which, in my case, seems to extend my mortal coil.

Keep believing if it makes you feel better. But don't waste all of your time on your knees, don't give all of your money to the con men in the white temples. Live while you are on this earth. Don't waste the one life you have for the promised lies of another life that you will never get.
