Monster Magnet - Sin's A Good Man's Brother Lyrics
Ain't seen a night,
things work out right, go by.
Things on my mind,
and I just don't have the time,
and it don't seem right.
that I don't hear people say,
they know they're gonna' die.
This may seem a little bit crazy,
but I don't think we should be so lazy.
If you think you've heard this before,
well, stick around I'm gonna' tell you more.
One just like the other,
sin's a good man's brother, but is that right?
You tell me that I don't,
You said this is the way it's supposed to be,
but it just don't seem right to me,
and that's outta' sight.
Some folks need an education,
don't give up, or we'll loose the nation.
You say we need a revolution?
It seems to be the only solution.

Excellent cover of this GFR song, but the original is still the best.
I'm so glad this song is this popular! The real authentic heavies get to Grand Funk!
Sorry man. GFR jacks up every fiber of my being.
One of the best bands ever, I lean earlier in their catalog, but it's all good
This song was written by an angry hippie named Mark Farner who had just witnessed the Utopian dream of Woodstock die with the chaos that went down at Altamont at the end of 1969, and he was PISSED! In his mind, there was no time to be articulate about it, and this song reflects the frustrations of a man whose belief in peace and love conquering all came crashing down and he was ready to give the world a big lashing with his words and his guitar, and he didn't care who heard him talk about revolution
Well said
One of the best bands to see live still in existence
It IS a satanic drug thing...and I understand it. Bought this Lp when it came out...a friend recommended it and said it sounded like a mix between Black Sabbath and Butthole Surfers...well...maybe not...I bought it and shit this rocked. And rocks
Guys this was kick ass!! Grand Funk Railroad is so damn underrated it's sickening.. Way to pay homage boys. Excellent cover! Mark Farner would be so damn impressed!! Do "I Come Tumblin"!' Hell yes!
Forget "Tumblin", I wanna hear a modern metal band cover "Paranoid"--The original "Paranoid", by GFR that is!
Love GFR, yet still have to admit that this version improves upon the original. Amazing cover! Mark Farner must have been impressed.
Grand Funk is Grand Funk
Awesome. Grand Funk was a kick ass band and this is one of their best, done to perfection by MM
What impressed me is that MM is a hard rock band, but the original still sounds harder. I remember the day my dad played the original for me when I was a little kid, and I'm fairly certain it was maybe the start of me getting bad grades in school.
Holy shite, a GFR cover. Rock the fug on.
Holly shit when i first herd spine of god i never knew this was a grand funk cover till just now i started listening to the album closer to home by grand funk i was like holly shit! Both of my favourite badns doing both songs how fucking cool!
Zappa produced their last album only,Terry Knight was the original manager, producer, promoter, did the first 6 albums.
I fucking love the original of this track and these guys absolutely nailed the cover! If you dig this/Grand Funk Railroad you should check out a Norwegian band called Brutus (songs like Swamp City Blues and Golden Town will get your mojo running)
As soon as this song came out at the end of the movie I was like "holy shit!"
This is my fucking jam.
I cut my baby teeth on this and MM doing a great job here!
sin's a good man's brother...indeed \m/
I have the original CD from 1991(?) it doesn't sound much different from this....and that's how it oughta be
Personally, I like the gritty sound quality. its rough, just the way I like it ;)
@matty4812 wow, I'm just hearing this 4 the 1st time myself,.....what a great tune!
@matty4812 the original is by Grand Funk Railroad, that's the version used in Law Abiding Citizen
The motherfuckin Space Lord kills this song! Hail Monster Magnet!
It's a Cactus Song
@Heuh999 That is why youtube is a good thing for the youth to see real music
Wow.....never knew this was re-done by this group.....killer-azz tune!!
this song is so true
@Heuh999 anyway i don't remember this album having extremely great quality of sound
Gonna cover this shit! Saw GFR and Humble pie was the opening act with frampton on guitar. that was in another age. Glad to see MONSTERMAG doing it.
@JuniorHRP ac/dc wrote the best rock n roll songs about rock n roll
its great when one kickass band covers another kickass band
@matty4812 The Song off Law Abiding Citizen was the Original sang by Grand Funk Railroad, Monster Magnet is doing a cover, Still good but:)
just got this song off "Law Abiding Citizen" i think its really good. they should post a new video with better sound quality, this one is muffled and not very good.
Law Abiding Citizen, first track from the credits. Awesome movie, awesome song!
1970 Grand Funk Railroad "Closer To Home" album.
Mark Farner's words live forever.
good cover...but it lack of the intro which can't miss...
i had the Tape before it was ever available on CD, only one store ever had the tape here, now that stores long gone, and it took years for this to get printed on CD, or at least no one here wanted to carry this album. In Austin Texas this was an EXTREEMLY rare tape! It was the best!
I heard that song at the end credits for the movie "Law Abiding Citizen"... Good song!
Awesome cover.
THAT my friend, is a fucking genius post
You guys did a great job on the arrangment - really a good job!
Good musicianship...I like the change ups, it rocks! Adding cowbell can only improve the way the world rotates...
Of course the voice of Mark Farner is impossible to duplicate and that is all that's missing here.
Very cool!
i'v got the cassette. its says "its a satanic drug thing you just wouldnt understand"
oooooooh yeah!!!
touché xD
If my auntie had balls, she'd be my uncle.
If the original song wasn't THAT good, this would actually be a pretty good cover
great cover of the great grand funk..
I've done every recreational drug and plenty of the DEVIL's work. to me these guys prove that there is SOMEONE BLOWING GOATS in the back room
always good to hear grand funk covers
Ahhhh...another gem off of 'Spine of God'. Spark up and lift off!!!
Written by Mark Farner, from the 1970 Grand Funk album CLOSER TO HOME.
