My godmother introduced her daughter and me to the Monkees in the early 90s and this scene is still seared into my mind. We absolutely lived for this show as kids.

Just love the song and the video clip. I think it epitomises Monkees' comedy. No wonder John Lennon described them as the greatest comedy team since the Marx brothers. As Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork kept trying to explain though, the Monkees weren't just comedy, they were a great band too, particularly toward the end of their time together.

One of The Monkees' most underrated songs. Nobody could sing it better. The three times I saw The Monkees perform, Peter sang this song. You could tell he loved performing this song live. He savored his only time as lead singer and he did an excellent job. RIP Peter and thank you for some great memories.
