Monkees, The - Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere Lyrics

Anytime, anyplace, anywhere
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on my door
I hope that you'll be standing there

I'll wonder what you'll say if we meet
On the street one day years from now
Maybe you'll need time to recall
Oh, but I won't need anytime at all
Now I guess we've come from circle
'Cause we're parting as friends

Anytime, anyplace, anywhere
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on my door
I hope that you'll be standing there

Love can make the tears in the rain
And the brightest flame can fade away
When you look into the eyes of a friend
There's a feeling in your heart that will never end
After all the songs I sang you
There's no doubt in my mind

Anytime, anyplace, anywhere
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on your door
And maybe I'll be standing there

Another road's ahead of me, the night moves on
This heart never lies, these tears in my eyes say carry on

Anytime, anyplace, anywhere
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on my door
I hope that you'll be standing there

Any day, any week, any month, any year
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on my door
I hope that you'll be standing there

Any day, any week, any month, any year
I'll never forget what we shared
Comes a day there's a knock on my door
I hope that you'll be standing there

  1. X.... H....

Their other 1986 song (along with "that was then this is now"). Wonder why they never recorded a full album of songs like this?

  2. D.... T....

This was my favorite of the three new songs included. Only Micky and Peter participated.

  18. D.... D....

I missed this raising kids. I LIKE it!

  19. D.... ....

There was an double LP of this, you could only get it from one of those "As Seen On TV" ads. I begged my dad for it. I wish I knew where it is...multiple moves and there's a LOT of my stuff spread all over...

  20. p.... ....

The Pool It! album was rather disappointing, though they did a few quite good songs in the 80s. This was a great one, as was That was then, this is now. Heart and Soul itself was catchy and I always had a soft spot for the Tork-lead b-side MGB-GT, on the back of the Heart and Soul single, and I think no where else. It's a fun little tune and is now on Youtube, yay!

    p.... ....

I was one of the few who really enjoyed pool it. Midnight was a standout for me. It should have been a single.

  21. R.... C....

The  Monkees go '80s.  Hopefully, they did not wear leg-warmers!

    R.... C....

No, but wore a lot of mousse in their hair.

    R.... C....

Ronald Charles Epstein ...except The Monkees were a product of the 70's, but you're still correct as the Pool It! album was a 1987 reunion.

    R.... C....

...and some serious mullets on the boys at that time.

    R.... C....

They were a product of the 60's.

  22. R.... H....

    Best of.

  23. R.... H....

Very best of the Monkees is title of album.

    R.... H....

    Best of.

  24. R.... H....

  25. J.... ....

Davy rules! Always did! Always will! Rest in peace Davy! X

Я слушал Not Your Steppin' Stone в 1971 зимой катаясь на коньках на катке в Омске, Сибирь. Потом на слух записал текст, подобрал аккорды и с успехом пел под гитару в окрестных дворах.

  27. M.... E....

I remember going to my first Monkees concert in 1986 at a local amusement park here in Utah with a friend of mine & we had fun!I was very excited to see the Monkees for the first time in my life & were they ever good.I'll keep on being a Monkees fan forever!

    M.... E....

Merry Elliott Yes but in O.., Ca.
Around Late July, for some reason I'd called Rhino Records and was told about the guys getting they're star on the walk of fame. Did I drag my 2 KIDS up to Hollywood Blvd.?
    You bet I did
I didn't think there were many people. Itseemed like a coupon dozen. Perhaps a few more.
A great experience for every one.

  28. D.... B....

Nesmith rules and don't ever forget it.

    D.... B....

Love Mike but I am a Micky Girl. His Vocals are amazing as are the few songs he wrote. RSG .:)

  29. D.... B....

This is the same one. I remember my parents bought me this tape back in '86 or '87

  30. M.... W....

Did they remix this? I don't remember this funky background as a kid in 1986.

  31. D.... ....

"Then & Now... The Best Of The Monkees" which came out on Arista Records in 1986. Sadly that release is out of print, and the only place to get this song.

  32. O.... ....

...I'll never forget what we shared!

  33. l.... c....

nice song, I love this song. frist time i hear this song

  34. S.... S....

    I am too excited!

  35. S.... S....

knock, knock, knock (good song to play when your cleaning)

  36. O.... ....

...reminds me a bit (orchestration_melody ) of China Girl by Bowie!

  37. L.... ....

they made a great comeback in the 80's! thanks to the great pop vocals of mickey dolenz!
why do you think it was HIM that they chose to sing all the songs on the comeback album!
    loved davy and peter too!
mike nesmith however was a big goone! he only agreed to be part of the comeback tour when the guys had a top ten song! what a jerk! they should have told him to piss off!

  38. S.... M....

    :) they are amazing

  39. S.... M....

    I do that too, haha

  40. S.... M....

I want to cry every time I hear them. They make me SO happy.

  41. L.... ....

    what album is this from?

  42. L.... ....

    love it :)

  43. G.... S....

    SOUND SO GROOVY 80S !

  44. S.... O....

The plan was to issue this as the followup to "That was Then, This is Now" but Davy Jones threatened to quit because only Peter & Micky were on it. MTV would have loved it. What if....

  45. b.... ....

I love the tags... "Mickys Sexy"... aha I couldn't agree more!

  46. l.... h....

    Thank you

  47. m.... ....

I remember when I first heard this song on the album, I was floored by it! Over the years, it's been my "go to" song for when someone I care about leaves my life one way or another. Thanks for posting it!

  48. G.... ....

This song, was one of the 3 New songs added to a "Monkees Greatest hits album" in 1986..
and its one of my personal favorites !! This song, "Anytime Anyplace Anywhere", along with.."That was then, this is now" (the big comeback record) and "Kicks" proved the "Monkees were back, and better than ever !!

  49. l.... ....

Mickys got such an amazing powerful voice :) and i agree with the tags...he is pretty sexy

  50. i.... ....

Dang, this is a good 80s song!

  51. J.... P....

Thanks for posting this.. it is a favortie of my family's.. especially my Dad's whom passed.. Thanks for posting this..

  52. D.... ....

@Beatlesonlyblog You are probably right, as Davy always went backstage when Micky and Peter sang them when they first came out, but then added vocals years later in concert after the song was a hit.

  53. D.... ....

LOVE the three new songs from this album, and both Mickey and Peter do a great job on them, but I do wish Davy had some part in them though. He was just pissed at the label (Arista) at the time, and I bet he would have been great with them!

  54. Z.... ....

    Thanks, Nicky!! I ♥ it! :-)
