Janelle Monae is a genius. Usually there is such a huge disparity between what an established adult artist can do in their late teens/early twenties and more than a decade later, but Janelle was always at that level. Her art is pure genius and talent.

I think this is probably the best release by an American pop artist since the turn of the century. I still remember throwing it into my CD Walkman on the way to school and circling the block several extra times before going in because I couldn't stop listening.

I miss this Janelle Monae so much :( I rarely ever get to say this about any musician, but her music has really changed.... Now it feels so mainstream, with very little meaning to it...

based on the behind the scenes footage online it would have been really cheap and out dated looking anyway compared to advanced technology graphics now... it was have looked like a starter episode from back in the early 60s with big box-like silver suited and round globes as helmets for the aliens... just would've been awful
