Monáe, Janelle - Givin' Em What They Love Lyrics
[Verse 1: Janelle Monae]
I am sharper than a razor
Eyes made of lasers
Bolder than the truth
They want me locked up in the system
Blame it on my youth
Too long I've been out here on my own
Now I'm bout to bring it home
Like a rolling stone
I ain't never been afraid to die
Look a man in the eye
[Chorus: Janelle Monae]
I come to give you what you love...
It's time to give you what you love...
Givin' you what you love...
[Verse 2:]
[Prince:]
I am sharper than a switchblade
First and last of what God made and that's the truth
But man, keep on tryna' hold me back
While another chicken head come home to roost
Too strong, tryna do me wrong
And the last one standing will order to my dance
Ohho... dance!
[Janelle Monae:]
Run tell your preacher and your teacher
[Chorus]
[Bridge: x2]
I say to take your time!
Take what you love
Baby, just enough
But never too much
Take your time!
Would you give me what you love!
Would you give me what you love!
[Guitar Solo]
[Outro:]
Two dimes walked up in the building
Tall and concealing, wearing fancy things
Chopped up with a knife, hammered like a screw.
When they walked in the room we didn't know what to do
One looked at me and I looked back
She said, "Can you tell me where the party's at?"
She followed me back to the lobby
Yeah, she was looking at me for some undercover love

Great song !
Годно!
the purple one and the pynk one together nothing better
I'm Listening!!!
she looks like Josuke
Janelle Monáe and Trent Reznor need to collaborate.
This needs to be put back on Spotify
Any reason why this absolute masterpiece isn't on Spotify??
Only here cause they took this AMAZING song off of Spotify
Greatness
Who else came here immediately when they saw the greyed out track on Spotify?
They need to put it back up.
Same here. What about Apple Music? Is it there?
Diego Urbina González it’s on Apple Music thankfully!
@Lily thank you 😊
The fact that the first song on this album is greyed out, just gives the whole package a huge enticement. She is just a talented musician through and through.
Struggling to feel Dirty Computer the same way, unfortunately. Despite claims that it is a step back from the narrative, it feels very non genuine. I categorize it in the same folder as Bangerz. Good music, but entirely lacking in enough substance to feel authentic.
She is his student
😱😱😱😱🔥🔥🔥🔥
how have i never heard this till I watched the Equalizer in 2018? Talk about a jam.
i purchased this album so i have no need to be here i just had to say this song slays me everytime
💕💆🏾♂️
‘Equalizer’ brought me here. The song made me stay a few replays.

Legends only mess with true talent. Prince knew what Janelle Monae represented; a true challenge to the status quo of the music industry. So sad he's not here to share more of his wisdom and musical genius, but Janelle Monae is that next generation of his level of musical talent.
Prince was her mentor, his death is the reason we had to wait so long for Dirty Computer.
WELL SAID!!!
Bring this song to Spotify!
Yeah, man!
Super catchy <3
pure🔥🔥🔥
This is my anthem no joke
why tf isn’t this on spotify
they took it off when they took off all of prince's music after he died, but for some reason this song was never put back :(
@classicmold petition this bollocks, yo. This is a damn fine song.
Prince was my hero but Controversy Music stay on BS
Yeh its there but blacked out.
It’s on apple music
In summer 2018 listening to this. Nearly in tears because of Princes Harmonies on the chorus and Janelle letting us know she absolutely, has the range. I miss Prince :(
classic can't believe I missed it
fucking iconic
Boxorino YASS
Anyone else getting a real Mike Patton vibe here?
Greatest Prince duo since Rosie Gaines.
The beat is soooo hawt!!!! I love ittt! yassss queen slayyyy!
i always liked her i just didnt know how much
This song is so cosmic. Can't get it out of my head. Fuck, I miss you Prince. This is just ripping me apart 💔
One of my favorite tracks off Electric Lady; so sultry. I remember getting the CD in the mail (I pre-ordered it) and shrieking when I saw Prince was featured on the first track since he was very picky about who he collaborated with. RIP Prince.
And QUEEN
her best songs are the ones noone knows about - noone's ready for her real genius yet. She's two years ahead of the curve every time.
I'm literally first hearing this two years after this comment!
Lol two years later I found your comment as I discover this song, and well by George you're right!... Although I would have appreciated finding this 2 years ago as much as I am today.
For some sexy grinding
Sicker than sick! That trombone. Those guitars. The percussion. Janelle with Prince on vocals. Ow! 😜 When I say this tune is fire; this is fire!🔥🔥
I am playing this on repeat. Gees!😩 "Baby, take your time. Take what you love." 🎤🎼🎶💯🔥👊🏾😍👍🏾
RIP Prince
This is, bar none, the HOTTEST song of at least the past decade. I never get tired of singing and dancing to this song. It works particularly well with classical and Tribal belly dance moves. Yes. Yes. Yes.
I KNOW!! That guitar is so hot and the sexy rock and roll feel is just perfect for sexy dance
And thats one of the BEST album covers Ive seen in ages!!! ;-)
For me this is the best song on the album as far as groovin out. Id LOVE to hear an entire album like this if possible, all produced by Prince perhaps? Great song
This song is smokin
