Incredibly melancholy, both in melody and lyrics. I've never been addicted, but the way Isaac is able to write a song that makes you feel the sadness and pain he's going through is amazing.

How does he get that sound from his guitar? Is it just the low quality recording? Cause god damn... Yes

I'm not a tone expert, but from ear it sounds like he's got a compressor with the attack turned down and the sustain turned up, probably with the tone on the guitar turned a bit down to get a less bright sound.

This sounds like an extremely rough recording. I wish they had officially released this song because if they had used higher quality equipment, this could easily have been among their best stuff. I don't know about anyone else, but to me, it sounds a lot like Edit the Sad Parts.

This demo has a very pretty, melancholy vibe to it, but considering the (likely) subject matter they probably thought it would be irresponsible to go through with recording it. And I would agree with that assessment.

Irresponsible? Night on the sun and plenty of other songs are about heroine. Truckers atlas is about a coke dealing white trash trucker.
It would have been awesome to hear this song on a long drive or Interstate 8.

@Nick it's not so much the subject matter as how the subject matter is conveyed. This song comes too close to glorifying shooting up, at least to my ears. It's kinda like how lou Reed said he had to stop playing "heroin" after people said they were shooting up to it. Night on the sun and truckers atlas dont have that vibe, to my ears, but this song does. Still a lovely melancholy vibe though. I guess the best way I can describe my point is that old quote "it's hard to talk about the rabbit hole without inviting others in"

Every time i  complete my rituals and go down the same used worn road, this song is what gives me comfort in knowing that people all have their own vices and are just looking for an out to share and express it with everybody; without the fear of being completely boxed in, wrapped up and labeled. @Noah Achrem i know what you're saying, but once you're in the bondage of having to do awful things for it and feeling sick everyday worrying about it and wtf you're gonna have to do to get it, you'll wish you never picked back up. i got 3 yrs clean. my ex went out while we were together. it was horrible watching him go through it, and it destroyed the both of us. still not over that train wreck. chin up bud. play the movie all the way through.
