MisterWives - Oh Love Lyrics

This song is really good, but the video is somehow even better. Here are a few of the things I noticed:


1) The electoral Map in the beginning
2) The Pepes (a meme claimed by the Alt-Right) tweeting
3) The use of Gold, which is sometimes associated with Trump's obsession with golden objects
4) The Golden Calf, the false idol from Exodus, being used as a representation of Trump
5) The Gold sticks forming a wall (will become relevant again)
6) The Pepes throwing rocks at the Statue of Liberty, showing the anti-American rhetoric that Trump campaigned on
7) The Pepe with a person on a leash and the Female gender sign in the background (implying it is a woman), showing the Misogynistic rhetoric
8) The Pepe holding a pitchfork that looks like the devils
9) Said Pepe threatening two people in front of an Equals Sign (used to represent equality), showing the anti-equality rhetoric
10) The Pepe pushing out two people (likely an adult and child) in front of the Bird on the Mexican flag, showing the anti-Immigrant rhetoric
11) The Black person with a Pepe holding a "gun" to their back in front of the Black Power logo, showing the racist rhetoric
12) The Black Power logo breaking while the person gets put into a cage
13) The T-Rex knocking down the Wall
14) The Elephant toppling the Golden Calf (This could also be in hope that the GOP doesn't allow Trump to do whatever he wants)
15) The American Flag made of Scraps and whatever was available, much like how the US was built on what was available and the "lesser" people

Just saw them live yesterday and this song BLEW ME AWAY. Incredibly powerful, very moving, and performed with such passion. And thats considering that it was my first time ever listening to their music! Without a doubt a new fan of theirs!

as i watch it a second and third time i catch more and more things like the piece of paper in the beginning being a ballot; after the bull rises up the frog troll things no longer send gold through their screens but it pours directly out of their mouth; the explosion at the chorus is the hate bubbling up from the surface and ripping a hole in the fabric of America; the crowned bull representing the financially elite by resembling the Charging Bull statue on Wall Street

..I like misterwives, but I feel like they tried to cram too many messages into one video. Obviously they're allowed to have a political opinion, but it wasn't very focused and came off almost hashed in, like they were just trying to do anything to reach a wide demographic. I don't know, it felt like someone just went "Nobody could hate equality, right? Let's just throw in a few seconds of that near the end, people will HAVE to love our song!"

I liked the song for what it was, not for the video. It's a shame they wasted a good song with such a pandering, misinformed piece like this.

Do you feel they are political? I mean obviously this is about Trump, but actually about his election. The song deals with the part when Trump is not a dictator technically speaking, he has been *elected*. This song is about the lack of love in this world that led people to think that Trump was the solution. (The "Crowned the devil a winner" part etc.) This song does not tell us that Trump is the bad guy. It tells us "WTF, why did we let hate win? Are we so fucked up?" This is not a song that calls for revolution. It is about anger and despair.
