I've been following Miss May I since Apologies, and I really didn't like this album too much when it came out.. I've continued following them until Shadows Inside, and to be honest, this album is actually really good. I didn't appreciate it at face value. I do now, and it's actually kick ass. Glad I came back for a listen.

Orion Melton it's GREAT

I thought the album was alright. It had its moments. It's just that the production and mixing was probably the worst I've. I thought Terry Date would do an excellent job with Miss May I since he has worked with bands like Pantera, Slipknot, etc. But for some reason, he decided to mess the whole thing up with cranking volume to low.

For all the haters here... Brutality is not everything in metal... Get over it...

I agree most of these comments that old Miss May I is better, but it makes me sad that many don't  like the new style and care listening to it like I still do :( I really hope they will get their fanbase back

nobody has mentioned this but I figure its a pretty relevant point to the change between apologies and monument to these past 2 album , in their earlier days they played with their guitars set to drop c(apologies and monument) now their guitars are set too an even lower drop a, as someone who learned all of their debut album and most of the second on guitar, I am slightly disappointed with what I've heard from this album, the technicality that I knew miss may I for imo is missing from this song , not knocking the band cause I've spent a lot of time with their music , I just don't exactly like what they're like now ,will still see what their future releases are like regardless 

Sometimes bands need to take a break from all of those deep and introspective lyrics and get some easy-to-repeat straightforward songs out there. This was the most simple on the album.

I remember when i saw them do a interview on scuzz saying how they want to learn how to play real metal music and actually become a metal band that people would remember and not another hit of the month metalcore band who thrives off social media with a army of 12 year olds and i hated them before but this is definitely alot heavier and has less focus on "cleans" hopefully they will develop their own sound and create something that they will be remembered for.. wouldn't mind some more riffs .

What happened to Miss May I? They were so good in their first two albums, At Heart grew on me & I liked the last four tracks on that album but this...I really was disappointed in this album. Feel like it disgraced the lion. It roared at it's fiercest in AAFTW imo. Like Moths To Flames will destroy Miss May I now..

Like Moths to Flames is the fucking shit \m/ i can never wait for whenever they announce new material, such a relentless band that NEVER disappoints, yet not many people listen to them:/ same goes for Breakdown of Sanity:/

@Evan Zych I agree, my favorite album though by them is their first cuz it was more fast paced, but Eye for an Eye was just as good, loved the whole album. Sadly, I never heard of Breakdown of Sanity :/

NOPE, Let's be real the whole album sounds like it was recorded in a restroom and the lyrics are beyond terrible.

Why do all these awesome bands turn bad all of a sudden. Maybe not necissarily bad, but boring. MMI did it, two albums in a row, Avenged Sevenfold did it, Of Mice & Men did it. It's like they get old and tired and don't wanna play the fast n heavy stuff any more, so they turn more rock than metal. Avenged Sevenfolds latest albums has got some good songs but it's sooo slow, OMAM, I don't even know what they did writing their last album, and MMI. It's just boring. No speed, no blastbeats no nuthin. AAFTW was the fucking tits, and Monument was pretty rad too. But hey, they seem to be playing all these shows with huge crowds all the time so it's probably just me.

Well nah man OM&M's is May favorite out of all of them. It was a step up for them. They matured. Instead doing all this girly singing and ugh.

MMI are really fucking good live as well.

@***** It's actually because he ruined his voice through overuse, so now this is the aftermath of overusing and going past the limit and range of his voice, and obviously editing, but he did not sound as bad as he does here.

I enjoyed At Heart, but I only listen to their older stuff on a regular basis. Upsetting that they went downhill.

Steady Camera > Shakey "in the moment" Camera. Sad that this is "professionally" done. I love this band regardless what their record label makes them release.

Dude! At Heart was great! If you pay attention to the lyrics and the riffs the heaviness of the album go with what's being said. This last album was good, but I think it's a filler album just to get buy and give the fans something.

His vocals used to be good. I was impressed when I heard their ep on myspace haha. The past two albums have lacked in brutality department. And I'm not sure what's up with the mediocre mid range vocals :[

Pros: His lows sound awesome, and the guitar/bass work is pretty good.
Cons: Lyrics don't really mean a whole lot to me, and the drumming is too simple for my taste.

This is how people should think about music, not just call bullshit everything that they are listening, everyone has different opinions.

Killer track. Glad to see these guys aren't releasing the same album again and again, despite some fans whining for them and having a go at them to do so. Great to see some decent metal bands maturing with their sound! Can't wait to see this live next time they come to the UK!

@Jason LovesPWD A lot of bands have used the worst songs on their albums as the main/promo track. I don't get it. They should do some focus groups of people who like that genre of music and do a poll or something.  

@Aerosol Lung They promo their best songs and then rest of the album sucks... What can they do then?? Or play some of their weaker songs as promos where people will tend to think the other songs might sound even better... Just my thought.
